Coffeegraph® is a tiltflow painting process that applies coffee pigments without binder by way of staining, layering and water burning.
Five decades after his initial start, Avi Roth noted subtle shifts in his attitude enlivened by all things modern. As he likes to say, "For I continually progress – therefore I am." He considers it a privilege of creating new expressions that illuminate the colors of mankind; bringing a meaning to each image and every experience through extreme intimacy and perpetual attentiveness derived from natural curiosity. It is within these passions that his work seems most alive today.

The opening of Art-Space Gallery, located at 2605 N. Lake Ave., Altadena, was a great success this past weekend, as part of the Open Studios Semi-Annual Art Tour.
For its first show, the Gallery debuted an exhibit of selected archival prints by Brian Goodman from his series “Solace of Space” and Avi Roth’s signature Coffeegraphs.

Happy to announce the completion of my seven artworks last week that comprise the "Babylonia" series. The series is now available for purchase in a beautiful custom-crafted 17"x22" clamshell case (limited edition of 10) for $6500
My next attempt is to negotiate through the gates of the infinitely complex divine world with the help of some lately acquired divine wisdom and artistic knowledge.
As every letter in all of our communications is a significant part of the 'whole' - coffeegraph is a significant part of our inner structural meaning. Its tremendous flow of living energy is coming from the highest level of our collective subconsciousness.
In this new series "Nothing and Everything" I will attempt to conceptualize the hidden "depth" and "dimension" to all things through the symbol of Sefirot which is the defining notion of Kabbalistic [the mystical and esoteric traditions of the Jewish people] theosophy - the building blocks of creation, the archetypes of existence, the traits of God, and the primary values of the world.

My new coffeegraph® series “Babylonia” consists of seven large prints, all printed on Canson® watercolor paper. The first release of the series is the “Land of Shinar”
The concept and main focus behind these works comes from my personal interest in the rich and exotic mythological past of the Assyrian-Mesopotamian life 4000 years ago (c. 2100 B.C.) and its parallels with our contemporary life.
The series “Babylonia” encompasses a wide rage of new techniques. But most importantly, its visual expression uses new motives with the tendency to reflect, to a significant degree, my interest in layered textures that I often use to express abstraction.
