Experience the timeless artistry of a florist with deep roots in the community.

As a Texas Treasure Historical Business & second oldest business in Allen, we take pride in serving Allen & surrounding communities with floral designs for all occasions.

On June 2, 1972, Jim Kerr didn’t just buy his wife flowers — he bought her an entire flower shop.

Today, we celebrate 54 years in business on a day that would also have been Carolyn’s birthday. What started as a gift of love became a family legacy, and we are so grateful to still be helping our community share love, comfort, celebration, and sentiments through flowers.

Thank you for supporting our family-owned business and allowing us to be part of your special moments for more than five decades. 🌸

Thought I would share a little personal post:

Good luck to Sam Collier, a Corinth resident, as he competes at the 2026 WORLD Classic & Equipped Bench Press Championships in Warsaw, Poland! Sam is traveling with the Powerlifting America USA Team after qualifying in January at Bench Nationals in Las Vegas.

Sam, a graduate of Lake Dallas High School, began his powerlifting journey in high school where he qualified for regionals his sophomore, junior, and senior years. He also qualified for state in 2020, though the meet was unfortunately canceled.

He continued his powerlifting career at Texas A&M University as a member of the powerlifting team, earning silver medals in 2023 and 2024. Sam also still holds the collegiate USA Powerlifting world record in the 56kg Open Raw Bench Press with an impressive 137kg lift set in 2024.

Sam will compete in the 59kg class in Warsaw on Thursday, May 28, at 5:00 a.m. our time.

Best of luck, Sam! Your hometown is cheering you on all the way from Texas to Poland. A special thank you to The Brickhouse Gym in Denton and The Tucker Shay Agency in Hickory Creek for sponsoring Sam on his journey to the world stage!

As we approach Mother’s Day. Let us remind you: Below is an example of an online “florist” who is not even close to being local in Allen. Not all online flower sites are real local florists. It is flat out deceptive trade. I just has a customer last week get “taken” by them.

Services like Ava’s, Teleflora, Flowers by Eva, and others often route orders through a middle system, adding extra fees and reducing what the local florist actually receives to design your arrangement.

At Allen Flower Shop, there are no middle layers or hidden fees. Every order is designed and filled right here in our shop, and every dollar goes directly to creating your flowers.

When you order local, you get full value, better quality, and support a real small business in your community.

Allen Flower Shop—truly local, truly yours. Your Texas Treasure Historic Business.

Zero deception from us! We want your flower ordering to be a positive experience. Help us out and share this so our community knows about the deception happening when searching for a local flower shop.

Did you pick up one of our seed papers at the Allen 150 celebration?

We can’t wait to see what grows! When your flowers bloom, tag us so we can celebrate with you.

We still have a few left so stop by Allen Flower Shop and grab yours while they last!

Here are some helpful instructions.

How to plant seed paper:

1. Pick a pot or spot outdoors with loose soil and good sunlight (wildflowers like full sun).
2. Place the seed paper on top of the soil—don’t bury it deep.
3. Cover lightly with a very thin layer of soil (about 1/8 inch or just a dusting).
4. Water gently so you don’t move the paper around.

Watering:

* Keep it consistently moist, not soaked, until it sprouts.
* Water lightly once a day (or twice if it’s hot/dry) for the first 1–2 weeks.
* Once you see sprouts, switch to every few days, letting the top soil dry slightly between waterings.

Other tips:

* Germination usually takes 7–21 days.
* Keep it in a warm spot with good sunlight.
* Don’t let it dry out completely during germination—that’s the most important part.

After they’re established, wildflowers are pretty low-maintenance and will thrive with just occasional watering.

Happy 150 years Allen! Let’s party!

Last night was a beautiful celebration of Allen’s 150 years!

I was honored to attend representing Allen Flower Shop — Allen’s second oldest family business. This community means so much to our family. My dad helped shape Allen through his service on the school board and the North Texas Municipal Water Board, and my brother served as a City Council member and Mayor Pro-Tem during the early days of the Allen Comprehensive Plan.

We love Allen, and we’re excited to keep celebrating with you today. Come see us!
