Inhaling the breath of sweet viola odorata every day, lately. Most people aren’t familiar with these delicate but potently fragrant little blossoms. They hide under the leaves, so I stroke my hand carefully over the clumps to see who’s too shy to raise her head!
The feeling of sweet violet’s scent is like someone who empathizes with all your cares and tender feelings, then gives you a taste of grown up violet candy full of love and sympathy. Mmmm.
These will go into the current enfleurage, and some of the leaves will go into yet another type of aromatic extraction.
(Not my best photo here, but soon will have better conditions for giving glimpses of the plant life in Spring)

Oh, how I have neglected posting here!
Work with the farm & plants & products has been all consuming this year. Everything is crazy lush and beautiful from the abundant rain we’ve had.
A few photos, including the garden house and production garden.

New & potently soothing for crabby skin: Leaf. And it is packed full of the hardest working ones. Look at the gotu cola below, post extraction. It began as bright, emerald green, which now is in the beaker.

We are about to get more snow, on the heels of the ice storm. Meanwhile have been working hard behind the scenes, slowly re-doing parts of the website, tinering with some zukoh, preparing classes, potting hyacinth bulbs, and ordering seeds.
What’s interesting in your world?

Still magic.

Look at this extra large incense cone, made for next Sunday’s incense making class. At 3.5 “ tall, it should fill the house with fragrance.
