Always love reuniting with family. Happy Friday ❤️

Happy Friday! Okay. So. More and more, in the past two weeks, I’ve been attending meetings with my normal no hair look. It’s mostly because I’m learning that having no hair has nothing to do with the success and impact you are making in your daily life. This week, I helped deliver a successful business case, convinced people to take another look at some metrics, attended 5 am Pilates not once, but twice, submitted a manuscript, won another literary award, finished a TV series with my husband and had dinner with my son and his wife. All while having no hair.

38 Years!! How did that happen? I love the life we’ve had, the journey we’re on, the beautiful babies we made and the love we have for each other. Every day with you and the kids is a gift. Happy Anniversary, ❤️

Honestly, a huge surprise! First runner up in the Romance Category from the team! Second award in two months and I am so very thankful. Makes me want to keep writing - not really. 😂seriously, though - I am honored by the recognition that little stories like this can still make a difference. Xx

Sunny with a chance of lazy. ☀️

I always knew my body would change as I got older. But I never expected to go through something like this. It started last October, when 25 percent of my hair started falling away. I thought that it was part of aging. Until I lost another 50 percent between January and today. I’ve gone through all the emotions, while still trying to focus most on all the beautiful things about my life. it’s just Alopecia, not cancer. And losing hair doesn’t need to mean losing yourself. I’m still here. Still being loved. Still staying as active as I can. Still laughing so much - sometimes at this big bald spot on the top of my head. I’m not sure there’s a cure for this - but I’m under the care of the best hair loss doctors in the world at Northwestern. And the Amazon wigs are pretty okay. So there. If you see me with longer hair, that’s not mine but I have to be okay with that too. Losing hair is devastating. God is teaching me another lesson. Maybe that it’s that not everything is about the way you look or what you have. Maybe it’s about what you don’t have and how to be fine with it. Xx
