IT’S CALLED TEAMWORK – A prior customer came in, only to find that his usual representative was away. Just like family, another sales professional stepped up. The project involved getting a ’69 Dodge Dart up to speed to give to the customer’s son. With the same sense of family and attention to detail, we put together a great system consisting of Kicker LX amps, AudioControl speakers and a Sony radio in an under-dash kit. Our skilled install tech did a great job on the kick panel and back-package-tray speakers. We had this Dart pounding with a pair of Kicker CompQ 10 subwoofers! ROCKIN’ THE DUNES – The owner of a Polaris Pro RZR came in with a factory-stock sound system. This is his second RZR, and the owner called the current system “very underwhelming,” complaining that it distorted when turned up. He asked about adding additional speakers and an amp to bring up the total volume and clarity. Because we work on a lot of similar toys, knew exactly what to add to really bring this Polaris to life. We installed the AudioControl ACX300.4 UTV amplifier to deliver clean power and linked it to two pairs of Kicker 45KM654L marine speakers. We installed one pair in a door pod that was made by SSV Works and installed the second pair in 6.5-inch cage pods that mount to the roll bar. Upon completion our customer said this is exactly what he was looking for. He left excited to hit the trails and let everyone hear what a RZR should sound like. The owner of a 2012 Audi A7 came to our Albuquerque location looking to add some serious bass while keeping her factory Bose car audio system. The answer was an Audio Control LC2I line out converter that seamlessly integrates into virtually any factory system. It provides a clean signal for the Kicker 46CXA18001 3600-watt mono amplifier. CX-Series Kicker amps reach massive power levels thanks to an optimized circuit layout and the highest-grade internal components. Highly efficient heat sinks keep the amp cool with a sophisticated new look. All that power is driving two Kicker 42CWQ122 Q Class 12 inch subwoofers. The subs are mounted in a high-output vented Q-Power QBOMB12V enclosure. The bed liner finish of the enclosure blends in anywhere and provides awesome durability. An Audio Control ACR1 dash mounted bass k**b was installed to allow the customer easy bass level adjustment. This system was incredibly loud in this luxury Sportback, and the owner was very happy with her selections. The poor sounding factory car audio system in his 2018 Subaru WRX was making the owner crazy, so he came into our San Mateo location to find a solution. He had decided on keeping his factory radio so we used a Helix DSP MINI OEM integration processor with a 64-Bit DSP to fix the factory signal. In addition, the DSP MINI offers unique DSP features like Augmented Bass Processing, StageXpander and Real Center function, which open new possibilities to tweak an audio system. Powering the interior speakers is a Kenwood Excelon XR401-4 four channel amplifier. Both the Kenwood amp and Helix DSP were custom mounted on an ABS bracket under the passenger seat. The front doors now house the Blam 165RS component speakers and have had a Hushmat AE00010 treatment to cut rattle and road noise. The rear speakers were also replaced with a matching set of Blam 165RC coaxial speakers with a similar Hushmat treatment. To add the much-needed low-end fill to the car audio system, we installed the JL Audio ACP112LGTW1 single 12-inch TW1 sealed loaded subwoofer enclosure. This system was a perfect fit for the limited space in the WRX trunk. We again did a Hushmat AE0020 trunk sound deadening treatment. We then tuned the system on the laptop with Audiotec Fischer’s DSP PC-TOOL Version 4 along with the MTK 1 measurement toolkit.
