We love this community. 💜 From celebrating employees at Balloon Fiesta to popping up in the SunBuzz with free breakfast at watch spots around Albuquerque, this week has been so rewarding. It reminds us of why we’re so proud to have served this amazing city for 78 years.
…Now, time for a siesta.

To keep up in a competitive industry like financial services, leaders have to be quick learners. That’s why we’re so lucky to have Ann Baur as our Senior Vice President of Retail Experience here at Sunward.
We are set to open our 18th branch this fall—the third new branch in Albuquerque this year alone—and that’s no accident. It’s largely thanks to the vision and can-do culture Ann has cultivated, leading our retail team into a period of historic growth. This optimistic, people-focused approach also creates better banking experiences for members, going beyond the transaction level to understand and support their larger financial goals.

Sometimes things aren’t what they appear. 👻 A convincing call or email could be a scammer using AI to impersonate people, businesses, or other institutions you trust. It’s easy to fall for their schemes, but there are telltale signs like:
🚨 Urgent or demanding tone—no matter how important they make it sound, you should verify with the person or business separately using their contact information you know.
🤔 Abnormal requests or language—it can be a red flag if the message seems out of the ordinary or the person communicates differently than your known contact.

As a credit union, caring for the community runs deep. That’s why we banded together to pack 250 hygiene bags for Locker 505, a clothing bank serving local students. This was a bright spot in everyone’s week, and we’re just thankful for the opportunity to give back to the community that’s done so much for us. 💜
