The set up continues!!

Packing up and headed north tomorrow for set up on the tail end of the store will be open with Jake, Basho, Rachel, (maybe) Judy and whoever else is working—otherwise come buy some cool books in Portland!

Before this building was Browsers’ Bookstore, it lived a life as a pizza parlor named Shakey’s Pizza. These are some of the original signs from the parlor!?

As far as I understand, after it was Shakey’s it was the First Round Tavern, which I’ve heard stories of drunks being carted by hand-truck home and drunks falling into our neighbors’ backyard. Etc etc.

Then! At some point the building became Albany Book Company, owned by Carl. 20 some odd years ago Scott .g.insta bought it and turned it into Vol. 2 of Browsers’ Bookstore. I’m sure I’ll be corrected on all of this but it’s the gist anyway.
