Gilligan's Island - famous opening shot in seasons 2 and 3 is of Coconut Island, or Moku o Lo'e located in Kane'ohe Bay off the island of O'ahu in the state of Hawai'i. The show filmed its pilot and some of the first episodes, not here, but over on Kauai and then moved back to Los Angeles. The island is state owned and used by the Hawaii Institute of Marine Biology
The winter snowstorm in Albany, Georgia, on January 21-22, 2025, was beautiful to capture. The footage reveals a serene landscape blanketed in more than 8.5 inches of pristine white snow, marking a historic snowfall for the region. Delicate flakes danced in the air, creating a picturesque winter wonderland. The snow-covered trees and rooftops transformed the familiar southern surroundings into a magical scene. The gentle snowfall and the quiet stillness of the town evoke a sense of peace and tranquility, making it a truly enchanting experience.

Visual Effects in the Star Wars films has always been at the cutting edge.
The scrolling text at the beginning of the original Star Wars films was created using practical effects. The filmmakers used a physical model with the text printed on a black background. The text was placed on a large, angled sheet, and the camera was carefully aligned above it.
The iconic "crawl" effect was achieved by filming the text as the camera slowly moved over it, capturing the perspective distortion needed to make the text appear as if it's vanishing into the distance. This required precise control of both the camera movement and the text placement to ensure smoothness and the proper illusion of depth.
The process was painstakingly manual, but it added a distinctive look to the opening sequence that became a hallmark of the series.
