Foreboding Way
Open for Trick or Treating Halloween evening from 5 to 10 pm. A short alley off Alameda avenue that appears only once a year near Halloween!
Yard decorations like some old favorites- the mad lab, plus new things built for last year that haven't been seen yet. This year the graveyard AND the mad lab have spread! Foreboding Way aims to be a zero carbon Haunt! 95% LED lighting, water v***r fog instead of dry ice [no frozen carbon dioxide]. 98% of the scenery has been up cycled from old corporate party / event scenery, all the paint is u

I kept noticing that I couldn't see the Great Pumpkin because the tree hasn't dropped it's leaves yet. So I went out and did a little commando cutting. ♫Trim trimery trim trimery trim trim cheree, now a big pumpkin is right there to see.♫

There's always one light that doesn't get a protective plastic poncho. One little %@ #% that is hung over scenery or other obstruction. It is in a tree where I might reach it from the porch roof. Said tree has ants and has poked and prodded me enough for the moment. But this is not surrender. Surrender is me pulling the light out of my little show.
Fingers crossed then uncrossed. Crossed and uncrossed again. Now Halloween eve is back down to 20% chance of sprinkles. Full on rain tonight and Friday night, so I might have a chance to strike some semi dry stuff Friday morning.
Well crud! We went from 10 days of clear weather to a 'might rain just a little Halloween eve' which then went away, then it came back.
Now, it looks like rain today/night, and off and on through MY holliday and into the weekend when I do the teardown.
My local Office Max doesn't seem to cary clear trash bags (to cover all my 'indoor use only' disco lights) So an Internet angel flew some in to Foreboding Way and I know what I'm doing this morning!
It sure FEELS like rain outside, a very distinct feeling to people who live in this 'Mediterranean climate'. Free water could soon be falling from the sky!!

When I planned for The Great Pumpkin, I imagined the tree would have obliged by dropping it's leaves. Looks like that'll be about 2 more weeks! lol
Still, it looks pretty good to passers by if not to car traffic. People are stopping in the street to look at the pumpkin light tree in anycase.

The Cauldron of Crickets (and a werewolf every 5 minutes). The Japanese maple tree has a variety of about 600 lights.
It stopped! Mostly. A couple weeks after I voted and the email barage has almost entirely stopped!! No more "500% matching donations if you hurry!!"
I figure she has over one BILLION dollars, she doesn't need my last $10.😃
First rough walk through

My little pumpkin toppers! Tonight two more are sitting on top of the column monument. The lovely cinder block and wood raised planter bed will have the "Kitty Columbarium" straddling this end, at an angle to the sidewalk- that bright light on the ground will become the little tomb's back light and the sidewalk will be partly shaded by it.
