The Alameda Community Emergency Response Team (Alameda CERT) trains and coordinates volunteers to assist first responders in emergencies.
The City of Alameda Community Emergency Response Team is made up of volunteers in Alameda, California who provide emergency communications, coordination and assistance in disasters. Ongoing program management and training are provided by the Alameda Fire Department.

Are you ready to make a difference in your community when disaster strikes? The City of Alameda Fire Department’s Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) is offering its Basic CERT Course in Spring and Fall 2025, and we want YOU to be part of it!
This free training equips you with essential skills to help your family, neighbors, and community during emergencies. Participants will learn:
✅ Disaster Preparedness & Response
✅ Fire & Utility Safety
✅ Light Search & Rescue
✅ Disaster Medical Operations
✅ Hands-on Skills Training
📅 Spring Online Course Dates: April – June 2025
📅 Fall Online Course Dates: August – October 2025
📌 Classes are held online and in person.
The course concludes with a hands-on CERT Skills Day, where you’ll put your training to the test!

The FREE online training will cover 4‐Steps to Preparedness:
Finding your trusted allies
Prioritize your health needs
Create your supplies kit
Plan how and when to evacuate
The training will be accessible by phone or computer through Zoom. Everyone who registers for the training will receive a link to the FREE 4‐Step Emergency Preparedness booklet. This course
