Thank you Summit County! 💙
A message from our Executive Director, Cassandra Holtzmann:
On behalf of our board, staff, community partners and volunteers, Summit County Children Services would like to thank the Summit County voters for the renewal of our 6-year operating levy, Issue 40!
The 62.74 percent positive vote as of 5:31 AM today, is a truly heartwarming vote of confidence for our first responders of child abuse and neglect. Our staff work tirelessly to serve the children and families of this amazing community every single day. For over 140 years, we have been serving the children and families of this community who need our help. Last year, SCCS served 1 out of every 12 children, and there were nearly 9500 calls to our 24/7 hotline.
The renewal of our levy will account for approximately 60% of the agency’s operating budget for the next 6 years which enables us to uphold our mission of safety, permanency and well-being of all children served in partnership with families and the community. Our staff will continue to provide high quality services above and beyond state and federal mandates.
Once again, we extend our sincere appreciation to all of you for your continued support. Thank you, Summit County, for being ‘Together for Safe Kids’!
Thank you, Summit County, for passing Issue 40 and supporting Summit County Children Services!
Your support of Issue 40 has ensured the children of Summit County will continue to be given the care they need and deserve through the vital work of SCCS.
You have made it possible for SCCS staff to remain as first responders protecting abused, neglected, and dependent children; for families to have hope of reunification; and for the children of Summit County to have brighter futures.
