While recent headlines have focused on visa denials, travel restrictions, and delayed arrivals, we want to take this opportunity to celebrate what makes the game, and our Akron community, so special.

In honor of Immigrant Heritage Month and World Refugee Day on June 20, we'll be highlighting the national teams that Akron's immigrant and refugee communities are cheering for throughout the tournament. We'll also be spotlighting the people, cultures, and immigrant-owned businesses that help make Akron a vibrant and welcoming place to call home.

Though we faced some tough competition, securing one win and putting up a strong fight in the other two matches showcases your hard work and determination. Each game brought valuable lessons and great teamwork. Keep your heads high, and let’s build on this momentum for the next matches! We’re proud of you all! 💪⚽️

🌟We are incredibly grateful to our anonymous donor for the generous $1,100 contribution to our soccer team! This amazing support will allow us to purchase jerseys for three teams in our club (U-12, U-13, high school boys, and our new girls’ team), benefiting all 56 players, many of whom are refugees.
