Each year, an estimated 1 out of every 100 children in the United States is a victim of abuse and neglect. As a CASA/GAL volunteer, you can make a difference in the lives of those children right here in Summit County.

Every year, close to 1,000 children in our community are living in out-of-home care due to child abuse or neglect. About 150 local CASA volunteers speak up for their best interests.

8,574 children receive services, which is 1 out of 13 children in Summit County. CASA/GAL volunteers ensure a child’s voice, needs, and wishes are heard by the Court and that the child’s right to a safe, permanent home is acted on sensitively and expediently.
