As summer temperatures rise, so does the demand on the systems that keep our buildings comfortable, productive, and operational.
For facility managers, healthcare administrators, commercial property owners, and multi-unit residential operators, peak cooling season is more than a comfort issue—it's a test of infrastructure reliability.
In our June newsletter, we explore:
✔ Why energy resilience is becoming a strategic priority
✔ The challenges aging HVAC infrastructure presents for large facilities
✔ How community energy systems help improve reliability, efficiency, and long-term cost stability
✔ The role shared energy infrastructure plays in supporting Akron's future growth
As organizations evaluate how to meet future energy demands, the conversation is shifting from simply managing utilities to building long-term energy strategies.
Read our June newsletter at https://www.linkedin.com/pulse/summer-isnt-just-season-its-stress-test-akron-energy-systems-llc-l4nze to learn more about the trends shaping commercial heating and cooling—and how centralized energy systems are helping facilities prepare for what's next.

Akron Energy Systems and AES Building Services are proud to have participated in the first annual METRO Stuff the Bus in support of the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank.
Thanks to the generosity of our employees and donors, Akron Energy Systems and AES Building Services collected 724 pounds of food, helping provide 603 meals to neighbors throughout our community.
This incredible community-wide effort resulted in nearly 16,200 meals for local families facing food insecurity. We are honored to stand alongside organizations across Summit County working to make a meaningful difference.
Thank you to the Akron-Canton Regional Foodbank, METRO, and everyone who contributed to this important initiative. We are grateful for the opportunity to support our neighbors and strengthen our community together.

Cleaner Energy. Stronger Community.
Environmental impact that powers Akron forward.
This Earth Day, we’re proud to support a more efficient, more responsible energy future.
Through our community energy system, Akron Energy Systems is reducing environmental impact every day by:
• Recycling millions of gallons of water through condensate return
• Recovering and reusing energy to reduce fuel consumption
• Delivering centralized heating and cooling that lowers overall emissions
Our commitment to operational efficiency and conservation helps protect the air, water, and land we all share—while delivering reliable energy to the buildings that power our city.
Because smarter energy systems don’t just serve buildings—they strengthen communities.

Investment That Extends Beyond the Plant
Modernization of Akron's community energy system didn’t stop at the central plant. Akron Energy Systems reinforced and expanded nearly five miles of underground piping, upgraded valves, rebuilt manholes, and extended condensate return systems, increasing system capacity and long-term reliability across downtown.
When infrastructure below the surface is strong, everything above it benefits.

What does “State-of-the-Art” really mean?
Modern infrastructure isn’t just newer equipment. It’s smarter design.
Akron Energy System’s upgraded system includes:
• High-efficiency, low-emissions boilers
• Variable-speed electric chillers
• Modern cooling towers
• Advanced water treatment systems
• Expanded looped underground distribution
The result: greater efficiency, higher capacity, stronger redundancy, and long-term durability.
Infrastructure built for today — and ready for tomorrow.
