Mr. Norn Genet has been a customer of mine for more than a few years now. He recently brought quite a few original photos in for restoration, each one coming with an explanation of its family history. They weren’t in the best of shape but that’s why they bring them to us. This one image in particular caught my attention. This image captures a fleet of coal delivery trucks from the Hollinger Coal Co., likely taken in the late 1930s or early 1940s. The company, Hollinger Coal Co., was owned by N.F. Genet, Norm’s father as indicated by the "N.F. GENET prop." text on the door. This type of operation was common in North America when coal was the primary fuel for home heating. During this period, coal companies provided essential services, delivering fuel directly to residential and commercial "ash chutes" for furnaces. Fleets like this were a common sight in industrializing cities across the United States. I could tell Norm was pretty proud of this image and his dad. We wanted to do the best job we could. I think it turned out well. We’ll see what he thinks when he picks everything up tomorrow. Hopefully, he’ll be happy with the finished product!

And just like that, it’s time for fall High School Sports! And that means Senior Banners! And more Banners! We create and print everything here at the lab. We’ll do about 300 to 400 Banners just for this fall sports season. Fortunate to be doing them for many of the high schools in and around the area. Pretty impressive and fun to watch when they come off the production line.
