The HEART OF A.KING Akron mural was removed last week for minor repairs in preparation for display at its new home at Northwest Akron Branch Library.

We did the math:

The media value of the mural was:
$536 per week

That’s not bad for 1 of the more than 100 murals we produced with a $240k Knight Foundation grant in 2017-2018.

It’s time to meet Geoff on Main, our neighbor and one of the most talented artists in Akron.

Geoffrey (Geoff) Gillespie is a former Ford commercial illustrator and Detroit public schools art teacher who has returned to Akron to fulfill his independent art dreams. His studio at 37 S Main St. is packed with phenomenal portraits of jazz legends and incredible scenes from all walks of life.

🦋 You still have time to see FLUTTER at ! This community show is up until Monday, June 1st. Work by 68 local artists can be seen in their hallways Monday-Friday, 9am-5pm.

The work, a salon-style show, saw more than 125 people at the opening, and countless more visiting over the last two months. 5 artists have sold work so far - inquire with the Stewart’s staff if you fall in love with a piece and are interested in purchasing.

ART x LOVE has curated the work in their Healing Arts Gallery since 2023 and we are so grateful for the connection to the community and the artists it brings us. ✨
