BHA Riding Academy
A non-profit program to enrich the lives of riders with disabilities and of all ages, through equine therapy.
To provide therapeutic horseback riding and unmounted activities to individuals with physical, cognitive, emotional challenges, and disabilities, in a safe and structured environment. We offer small group and individual riding sessions, as well as unmounted sensory activities. Our leaders have over 22 years of horse experience and have demonstrated time and time again the benefits of equestrian activities. Our goal is to help students reach personal goals and always to have a great experience.

Trail riding is a great way to keep our therapy horses healthy and have good minds. Being a therapy horse requires a lot of patience on their part, which is not always easy to achieve. So trail rides help to open their world and expose them to something different than just riding around in the arena. They can “let their hair down” so to speak! Pappy and Sonny thoroughly enjoy racing each other on the trail, we did a little bit of that today, but we investigated a new trail in Brecksville that we’ve never seen before so that was very interesting for them as well. New site new sounds new smells.
It’s is satisfying to watch the Canal as it flows and the two of them both let out a relaxing sigh…that lets us know that they are enjoying the sight too!
