We celebrated the Swear In Ceremony of new AFD Chief C.J. Alexander this afternoon. Chief Alexander follows in the footsteps of past Fire Chief David Jones. I know he and his team will carry on the culture Chief Jones instilled in AFD.

We celebrated the 92nd birthday of Imogene Roberson today at the Addison Athletic Club. Imogene’s birthday is actually on March 20th but it’s never too late to celebrate birthdays. She loves to work out at the AAC with her friends, and also tend to her plot at the Addison Community Garden. I have found that she has one of the most positive attitudes and spirit in our community.  Happy birthday Imogene!

The Addison Orbit app is now available on the Apple, App Store and Google Play store. The product launch date is April 24, 2026. If Addison votes to withdraw from DART, we will utilize this product to connect with DART for those wishing to ride DART. You can also utilize this for transportation within Addison not connected to DART. This product solves the first mile / last mile problem.

Happy to share that we have a few new trees at Les Lacs Park. This was part of a town youth service project that occurred Saturday led by Matt Anstead of our Addison Parks and Recreation Dept. Thank you to our young volunteers who gave their Saturday morning to plant a handful of trees and clean up this beautiful park. 

We celebrated the Grand Opening Ceremony this weekend for Hotel DAX. I’m happy to share there is a lot to love about this rejuvenated property. Thank you to all in the community that were present Friday night to celebrate the opening. Also, a big thank you to General Manager Erik Pedersen and his team for all of the hard work that went in to the renovations.
