The Islamic University in Uganda, IUIU is a subsidiary organ of the Organisation of the Islamic Conference (OIC), a body which represents fifty seven member countries from Asia, Africa, Europe and South America. The university is located on the out skirts of Mbale town eastern Uganda with 3 branches in Kampala, capital of Uganda (Kampala campus-Kibuli and Females’ campus-Kabojja) and Arua district

IUIU Appreciates Nigerian TAC Staff for Dedicated Service

The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) has bid farewell to 17 Technical Aid Corps (TAC) staff from Nigeria who have been serving at the university under a two-year contract facilitated by the Government of Nigeria since 2024.

The staff was deployed across IUIU campuses, including the Main Campus in Mbale, the Kampala Campus, and the Females’ Campus, where they contributed to teaching, research, and academic development across various disciplines.

IUIU Hosts FAWE Zimbabwe Delegation for Benchmarking Visit

The Islamic University in Uganda (IUIU) hosted a delegation from the Forum for African Women Educationists Zimbabwe (FAWEZI) as part of a regional benchmarking visit aimed at strengthening inclusive access to higher education on Wednesday, 6th May 2026

The visit is coordinated through the National Council for Higher Education (NCHE), bringing together a 17-member team comprising representatives from FAWE Zimbabwe, the Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education, universities, and the MasterCard Foundation. The delegation will be led by Professor Faraul Tagwira, Permanent Secretary in Zimbabwe’s Ministry of Higher and Tertiary Education, Innovation, Science and Technology Development.
