Summer School is coming! The last week of July, students will gather for a community-centered program focused on leadership, teamwork, creativity, and serving others. At BHP, young people do not just learn about change. They practice it.

Letters have always been part of the BHP story. Since our founding, students have used handwritten letters to bridge the distance between Uganda and supporters around the world. These notes are filled with drawings, color, gratitude, personality, and voice — a reminder that our students are not statistics. They are children with stories to tell.

Ever wondered how sponsorship works at BHP?

Our model helps students access what they need to stay in school and keep growing — tuition support, uniforms, materials, meals, mentorship, leadership programming, and family/community support when needed.

But BHP is not a traditional “one sponsor, one child” program. We support students as a cohort because care should be shared, equitable, and rooted in community.

At BHP, sponsorship is not charity from one person to one child. It is collective investment in a generation of young leaders.

HAPPY NATIONAL HEROES’ DAY UGANDA 🇺🇬

Today, we honor the courage, sacrifice, and leadership that have shaped Uganda’s story, and we celebrate the young people who will help shape its future. At Building Hope Project, we believe heroes are also being raised in classrooms, on school compounds, in homes, and in communities where students are learning to lead with courage, compassion, and purpose.

Congratulations to graduates around the world stepping into new milestones, new chapters, and bright futures ahead. At BHP, we know every graduation is more than a celebration. It’s a reminder of what’s possible when young people are supported, encouraged, and given room to grow.

Less than two months ago, these 16 girls were just beginning to build as a team. Now, they’ve already competed in their first tournament and placed at the regional level.

Our girls netball program is about so much more than sport. It is about mentorship, sisterhood, and creating safe spaces where girls can take up space with confidence. Beyond practice and competition, we are also investing in conversations around health, bodily autonomy, and the support they need to grow into strong young women.

We are so proud of this team and just getting started. 💙🏐
