I grew up watching my mother struggle every day. And as a young boy, I believed life would be easier if I just went to live with my father. But when I got there, it was even harder than I'd imagined. Books were scarce, and sometimes one book had to be torn into two parts so different children could share it. I had to walk to school with almost nothing, and school fees often forced children to leave school altogether. Those experiences stayed with me. As I grew , I realized my childhood wasn't just my story. It's still the reality for thousands of children today. Every day children miss school over fees,or lack of sanitary supplies, or because their families can't afford learning materials.Many end up on the streets, not because they want to, but because poverty leaves them with few choices. I promised myself that if I ever had the chance, I'd be part of the solution. That's why we're Girls Rising Up Network. Through our back-to-school campaign, we help vulnerable children to find hope through school supplies, educational support, and opportunities to stay in school. Every child we help reminds me of the boy I once was. I know that one act of kindness can change a life, because someone once believed in me. Today, I'm asking you to believe in another child. Whether you sponsor a child's education, donate school supplies, or contribute financially, your support gives a child a chance to stay in school and dream again. Together, we can ensure that poverty does not decide a child's future. Because every child deserves the opportunity to learn, to dream, and to rise.

As we are embracing the love of our mothers on this day of women’s days, we remember the gentle hands that guided us, the laughter that filled our homes, and the endless sacrifices made quietly, without asking for praise. Love isn't just a feeling or a fleeting moment of kindness; it’s a powerful force that transforms lives when it is put into action. When we choose love in action, we choose to engage with the world in a way that transcends personal gain and self-interest. It becomes a ripple effect that can heal, uplift, and ultimately change the fabric of society.
So, when you choose love in action, you become part of a larger movement—a force for good that can shift the world toward hope, peace, and understanding. Every small step you take in service to others has the potential to change everything.

In Uganda, millions of young people wake up every morning with dreams in their hearts, skills in their hands, and education at their backs—but they are met with the cruel reality of unemployment, underemployment, and informal work that robs them of security, dignity, and a future.
This isn’t just a statistic. These are real lives—dreams deferred, futures uncertain, families waiting for hope. We can’t stand by while young people are held back from contributing their energy, creativity, and potential.
She Rises is clear: economic growth has no meaning if it doesn’t create opportunities for people to work in dignity. Jobs mean nothing if they are not safe, fairly paid, inclusive, and sustainable. We must rise above the numbers and see the faces—the hope in their eyes—and do what is right.
At Girls Rising Up Network, we believe in the power of youth-led solutions, skills development, entrepreneurship, and inclusive economic policies. These are not just options—they are the key to stability, progress, and a future that includes everyone.
With our project She Rises, we are empowering young women to take charge of their futures, equipping them with the tools, confidence, and opportunities they need to rise above the barriers. When young women have access to decent work, they don’t just survive—they thrive.
