Games Committee - UWI STA Guild

Today, on World Su***de Prevention Day, your Games Committee wants to take a moment to pause and speak from the heart. 🩵💜

To our fellow students, our friends, athletes and anyone who happens to be scrolling past this, we want to remind you that you are so incredibly important. In the hustle of classes, practices and everyday life, it’s easy to feel overwhelmed or like you have to carry the weight of the world alone. But please hear us when we say, you don’t have to.

It is also so easy to look at others and wish we were walking in their shoes, but please remember never compare yourself to anyone else, because you are uniquely and wonderfully made. There is no one else in this world with your exact smile, your specific talents, or your special place in our lives. Your presence brings something unique to this world that no one else can replicate.

You are not a burden. Even on the days you feel invisible, you are seen. Even on the days you feel weak, you are stronger than you know.

As a committee, we are a team and a team looks out for one another. If you are struggling, please lean on us, lean on your friends or reach out to a trusted adult or counselor. A simple conversation can be a lifeline.

Let’s continue to check in on each other, offer grace and remind one another that there is always hope, even in the darkest moments. You belong here. You matter. And we are so glad you are here. 💜
