Signature Collection

A few days ago I wrote a story about a beloved customer whose sister instructed him to get her birthday present, a bottle of Viktor and Rolf’s Flowerbomb from me.

She had recently received one and in her opinion it is a fake because it smells nothing like what she remembers of Flowerbomb.

Flowerbomb is 21 years old this year and it has been reformulated and most reformulations while mandated by law, IFRA and European Cosmetic Commission regulations so you can’t get away from it, doesn’t mean that the perfume smells as good as it use to when it was newly launched.

I have no idea what scent the wearer derives from her Flowerbomb fragrance nor the gift she believes is fake but what I do know is that I would guide her brother as best as I can so that he makes a financially sound investment and buys a perfume his sister would enjoy wearing.

I gifted my customer a few 2 ml decants for his sister to “date” to determine what she loves, what is giving her the longevity, Sillage, projection and scent profile she desires before a final gift is picked.

Viktor and Rolf, Valentino and L’Oreal Luxe perfumes have no idea what levels of customer care I show to my customers and how carefully I curate customer experiences and quite frankly I don’t think they care once they get their perfumes sold.

However, while the entire world looks down on the Caribbean in a very negative light and some people don’t think you can experience excellent customer service outside of a big name department store, they have no idea the level of dedication and commitment to quality that I offer my customers on a daily basis.

If only I could get a few more brands to believe in me and the magic I create here in little Trinidad and Tobago the way Parfums de Marly and Initio Parfums Prives has the world will definitely smell a whole lot better.

If you are part of my international audience and my perfume stories motivate you and you are part of the wider world of perfume houses, then I respectfully ask that you open a few doors for me because what I am single handedly doing in my home country can be a model replicated a thousand times over to ensure customer brand loyalty.

I had 4 new customers visit me at the store yesterday in what I would describe as economically challenging times in Trinidad and Tobago.

This is not a new phenomenon to me as every week I get new customers.

This is probably not a story about perfumes as much as it is a story about life and being consistent.

Everyday I show up on at least one Social Media platform and I keep my messages clean and family friendly as well as I talk about the science about perfumes…

Secondly, I recognize that people love pretty bottles and information to be short and concise and I try to give the people what they want.

Finally when they show up in-store what they experience on Social Media that brought them to me is what I deliver to them.

Today I will be taping another set of videos and some of the common mistakes I see people making quite frequently I will highlight with a suggestion on how to get the best results.

Consistency is King and being honest with customers will help you keep the right ones.
