Every imported bag of potting mix on the shelf in Trinidad was formulated for a temperate climate, where the humidity is lower, the heat is gentler, and the rainy season doesn’t exist.
In our climate, that mix holds moisture for days longer than it should. The roots sit in it. They can’t breathe. And the plant above soil looks tired while the damage happens underground where you can’t see it.
I spent two years fixing this for T&T conditions.
