Turkey welcomes 10.88 million foreign tourists in the first seven months of 2021, according to the tourism Ministry. Istanbul was the highest city visited by foreigners, attracting over 3.85 million tourists. Followed by Antalya, the Mediterranean city, hosted 3.26 million, and Edirne, which has borders with Bulgaria and Greece with 1.22 million.

Fitch, which is one of the reputable global credit rating agencies, revised up its forecast for Turkish economic growth in 2021, from 6.3% to 7.9% after the strong performance which the economy has seen in the first quarter.
