การจัดประชุม AHPNW Bangkok Workshop 2024 "Powering The Future:Energy Efficiency and Carbon Neutrality with Heat Pump Technology" เป็นความร่วมมือระหว่างกรมพัฒนาพลังงานทดแทนและอนุรักษ์พลังงาน (พพ.) และมหาวิทยาลัยเทคโนโลยีพระจอมเกล้าธนบุรี (มจธ.) เป็นเจ้าภาพร่วมจัดประชุม เพื่อแลกเปลี่ยนและแบ่งปันข้อมูลที่เกี่ยวกับนโยบายการส่งเสริม การใช้งาน รวมถึงเทคโนโลยีการพัฒนาของปั้มความร้อน เพื่อให้เกิดการสนับสนุนการใช้งานและการพัฒนาเทคโนโลยีปั๊มความร้อนและการกักเก็บพลังงานความร้อนในภูมิภาคอาเซียน ทั้งนี้ ประเทศไทยได้เข้าร่วมเป็นสมาชิกเครือข่าย Asian Heat Pump & Thermal Storage Technologies Network (AHPNW) มีสมาชิกประกอบด้วย ประเทศญี่ปุ่น เกาหลี จีน ไทย เวียดนาม อินเดีย และอินโดนีเชีย ซึ่งจะมีการจัดประชุมเครือข่าย AHPNW เป็นประจำทุกปี โดยในปีนี้ ประเทศไทยได้รับเกียรติเป็นเจ้าภาพจัดงานประชุมฯ ดังกล่าว

How They Work

Heat pumps are an energy-efficient alternative to furnaces and air conditioners. Like your refrigerator, heat pumps use electricity to transfer heat from a cool space to a warm space. During cold seasons, heat pumps move heat from the cool outdoors into your warm home. During warmer seasons, they move heat from your home into the outdoors. Because heat pumps transfer — rather than generate — heat, they are significantly more efficient than traditional heating systems.

There are two main types of heat pumps connected by ducts: air-source and geothermal, which differ in where they collect heat from (air, water, or the ground outside your home) and concentrate it for use inside.
