Congratulations to the crew of , which premiered last night at the Tribeca Film Festival The first two of four episodes were shown to an enthusiastic audience, and all four episodes will air on HBO in July.
I’m in it (just a little bit) on behalf of Death Guild Thunderdome for my loud mouth (literal and figurative), and am honored to be featured among dear friends and acquaintances whom I admire and respect. The show’s treatment of Burning Man Project and its history highlights several complicated, pivotal moments in the event’s history in a respectful and balanced way while telling the whole truth. And it does all this while being spicy as hell.
Being approached by strangers on the crew who hugged me familiarly and said they’d been working on my parts for a while and felt like they knew me (and then said they loved my voice) was a new sensation.
Episode two ends with a cliffhanger and I can’t wait to see the rest.

Trying new things
One week ago, in San Jose del Cabo, I brought my mermaid song (Měsíčku na nebi hlubokém ‘Song to the Moon’ from Rusalka by Dvořák) to a pool for the first time. This is the piece I use for my current opera+trapeze act, so I wasn’t worried about the physicality, but there were a few differences, like the simple act of pushing through water while maintaining breath control. Thankfully, the pool was only 5’, and I’m 5’8.5”, so I didn’t have to work to stay above water.
Because the piano legs were in the water, when my ears were submerged, I could still hear, which was really cool.
And this pool was *warm*.

Baja Piano Fest at San Jose del Cabo Main Plaza (headlining Friday the 17th) and Acre Resort (Saturday and Sunday).
Some of the folks behind Flower Piano have invited me to participate in an event that had me sending a 21-song repertoire list and now has me going through my gowns and figuring out which ones will look good floating in the water. I know it's late notice but ... live a little. It's later than you think. I'm ecstatic for this "I can't believe I get paid to do this" moment and would love to share it with you. If you actually show up I will buy you nine drinks. Nine.
