There will be a Chulakathin Merit-Making Festival at Chiang Khong from the 23rd to 24th of November. "In a Chulakathin ceremony, cotton cultivated for the ritual is processed into woven fabric in a 24-hour period. The woven cloth to be used as monk's robe is immediately donated to the host temple. Members of the community carry out various stages of cotton thread and cloth production, ginning, dyeing and weaving." On the 12th to 14th of October, there will be a Rhinoceros Beetle festival at Central – Robinson Chiang Rai. This is a revival of an Ancient Lanna tradition.

พิพิธภัณฑ์ชาวเขาจะมีช่างทอผ้าคนหนึ่ง จะมาทำงาน ที่นั่น ฉันหวังว่านักท่องเที่ยวจะได้เรียนรู้เกี่ยวกับการทอผ้า และ เข้าใจ ทำไมคนหนุ่มสาวไม่อยากทอผ้า

We will be having a weaver set-up a loom at the Hilltribe Museum at Chiang Rai. She already sells her products through the Museum Shop. With her weaving at the museum premises, visitors will be able to see more closely how difficult weaving is. Perhaps this will make them understand why it is necessary to pay a higher price for HAND Woven materials. I am very eager to see this through.
