Statement on Human Rights, Equality and Human Dignity

I firmly believe that all human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. No person should be considered superior or inferior to another because of race, religion, culture, nationality, place of birth, s*x, gender, s*xual identity, skin colour, social or economic status, education, age, appearance, physical characteristics, or any other circumstance.

Human dignity is not determined by the colour of one’s skin, the family into which one is born, the wealth one possesses, the education one receives, the position one holds, or the appearance one carries. These are merely differences among human beings; they must never become reasons to discriminate, humiliate, exclude, or diminish the worth of another person.

Equality does not mean that every human being is identical. It means that every person deserves equal respect, equal dignity, equal protection under the law, and equal opportunity to live freely and with dignity. Diversity is not a threat to humanity; it is part of what makes humanity beautiful.

We must therefore reject discrimination, prejudice, hatred, and all forms of dehumanization. No one should be judged by the circumstances of their birth or by characteristics they did not choose. A person's true worth should be recognized through their humanity, their character, their actions, and the way they treat others.

Human rights belong to every human being simply because they are human. They are not privileges granted to a particular race, religion, gender, nationality, social class, or group.

Let us build a world in which differences are respected rather than feared, diversity is embraced rather than condemned, and every human being is treated with dignity, fairness, and compassion.

Because we may be different in many ways, but beneath those differences, we are all human—and no human being is born more worthy than another.

STATEMENT ON THE RESPONSIBLE AND HUMAN-CENTERED DEVELOPMENT OF ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE

Artificial Intelligence represents one of the most profound technological developments in human history. It has the potential to transform science, medicine, education, economies, and the way humanity confronts the great challenges of our time.

Yet with great technological power comes an equally great responsibility.

I believe that the development of Artificial Intelligence should, where necessary, be slowed down—not stopped, rejected, or abandoned, but approached with greater caution, wisdom, and responsibility.

Humanity must not allow the speed of technological advancement to exceed our ability to understand, regulate, and manage its consequences.

We must ensure that appropriate laws, ethical principles, safety standards, accountability mechanisms, and international cooperation are established alongside technological progress. No technology should advance beyond our capacity to protect human life, human dignity, human rights, freedom, and the security of future generations.

The question before humanity is not simply “How far can Artificial Intelligence go?” It is also “How far should it go, and under what safeguards?”

We must carefully examine both the extraordinary opportunities and the potential risks of increasingly powerful AI systems. We should not wait for irreversible harm before taking precautionary measures. When the consequences of technological decisions could affect not only individuals or nations, but potentially the future of humanity itself, prudence must be regarded as a necessity—not an obstacle.

Slowing down, when necessary, is not a rejection of progress.

Regulation is not an enemy of innovation.

Caution is not fear.

And responsible governance is not opposition to technology.

On the contrary, these are the foundations upon which sustainable and humane technological progress must be built.

The future of Artificial Intelligence must not be determined solely by what is technically possible or economically profitable. It must also be guided by ethics, human rights, democratic accountability, and our shared responsibility toward future generations.

Humanity created Artificial Intelligence. Therefore, humanity must also accept the responsibility to govern it wisely.

Let us continue to explore, innovate, and advance—but let us do so with humility. Let us have the courage to slow down when we are not yet ready, the wisdom to establish safeguards before they become necessary, and the foresight to consider consequences that may extend far beyond our own generation.

Progress should never be measured merely by how fast humanity can move forward, but by whether we can move forward without losing what makes us human.

Artificial Intelligence should serve humanity—not replace human dignity, undermine human freedom, or place the survival of our species at unnecessary risk.

The future is not something we merely inherit.

It is something we are responsible for creating.

And if we are to build that future with Artificial Intelligence, then we must ensure that intelligence is accompanied by wisdom, power by responsibility, and innovation by humanity.

A Reflection on the 25th Anniversary of September 11, 2001

Twenty-five years have passed since September 11, 2001, yet the memory of that tragic day remains deeply etched in my heart and in the conscience of humanity.

On this solemn anniversary, I remember with profound respect the thousands of innocent lives that were lost, and I extend my deepest sympathy to their families, to the survivors, and to all those whose lives were forever changed by that terrible tragedy.

I believe that September 11 was not merely a tragedy for the United States. It was a tragedy for humanity—a painful reminder of what can happen when hatred, extremism, intolerance, and violence overcome our shared respect for human life and human dignity.

Twenty-five years later, I believe that remembering must mean more than looking back with sorrow. It must also mean learning from the past and choosing a better path for the future.

I choose to remember the courage of those who risked their lives to save others, the compassion of strangers who stood together in the face of unimaginable loss, and the solidarity of people who reminded the world that humanity can still rise above hatred.

I believe that no cause, no ideology, and no grievance can ever justify the deliberate taking of innocent human lives.

May the memory of those who were lost remind us that every human life has dignity and value. May it encourage us to reject hatred, oppose violence, respect our differences, and resolve our conflicts through dialogue, understanding, justice, and peace.

We cannot change what happened twenty-five years ago. But we can decide what kind of world we will build because of what we have learned from it.

On this 25th anniversary, I remember the victims, honor the survivors, express my deepest respect for those who sacrificed their lives to save others, and reaffirm my hope for a world where no people, regardless of nationality, religion, race, or background, have to suffer from such hatred and violence again.

I remember. I mourn. I learn. And I choose peace.
