If you only have one day to dedicate to the Cape Town peninsula, this is the route you need to hit all the highlights. This is a packed itinerary for one day, so buckle up!

First things first, you absolutely need a rental car for this loop! Relying on rideshares will cost you a fortune and leave you stranded. Renting a car in Cape Town is affordable, just remember they drive on the left side of the road!

This is exactly how to map it out:

📍 Muizenberg: Start your morning checking out the iconic colorful beach huts and watching the surfers catch their first waves. Our favorite spots to grab a coffee in this area are Harvest Cafe, Joon, and Knead bakery.

📍 Boulders Beach: Seeing the penguins on the beach is an absolute must! Head to the Boulders Beach entrance instead of Foxy Beach, you’ll be able to see them better!

📍 Cape of Good Hope: This will take you some time to get into the park and back out but the views are beautiful! It is soooo windy down at the cape of good hope sign. I wore a short dress and really regretted that because it kept blowing up! There are lots of wildlife in this area so be aware for baboons and ostriches.

📍 Chapman’s Peak Drive: Truly one of the most beautiful drives we’ve ever taken! Definitely stop along the pull-offs to get out of the car and take pics.

📍 Camps Bay: There are tons of bars and restaurants in this area. You’ll have no shortage of options when finding something for dinner! Our favorite restaurant on the main strip is a steakhouse called Bo-vine.

Starbucks these instant coffee packs have saved us too many times to count. Sometimes hotel coffee just isnt good and you need something better.

Loop Earplugs these seriously reduce the noise in every situation where we are trying to sleep, especially on the plane!

Yao Cheng this 5-year memory book is one line a day for 5 years! You can then see exactly what you were doing, thinking, and feeling on the same day for 5 years. How cool is that?! and it’s super small and easy to travel with.

Nomadix we seriously use these towels for so many things and in so many locations. They fold up so small that it’s so easy to throw them in our backpacks!

Sea to Summit - USA I’m telling you from experience… if you do hotel laundry, there is nowhere to hang clothes to dry. This thing is a game changer for your laundry sanity on the road!
