This hillside residence in Kohphangan is designed to merge contemporary tropical living with the serene landscape. The house is nestled into the slope through a series of platforms and stairs, while opening the interiors to majestic views over the Gulf of Thailand.
The design emphasizes horizontality, material honesty, and integration with nature, creating a villa that is both refined and deeply connected to its island context.

“A climate-responsive luxury retreat designed for tropical coastal living”

Sea side holiday residences often benefit from spectacular sea views when the plot is on a steep slope. Entirely focusing on the upper level, the space below is often neglected and serves as storage if at all. Our design considers the ‘below’ space as an integral part of the house with a unique character, where outdoor activities can take place protected from the sun and with close connection to the surrounding vegetation.

“City Benchmark” transforms the language of finance into an urban experience.
Inspired by stock exchange graphs, the design translates the familiar red and green bars of profit and loss into a series of sculptural benches. Installed in the City of London, the project reflects the identity of one of the world’s leading financial hubs.
Through a simple yet thoughtful concept, the benches create a dialogue between data and space shifting in meaning depending on perspective.
A temporary installation, but a lasting idea:
design can make even abstract systems tangible.

'City benchmark' has been widely covered in the press along with 8 other benches.

Our proposal for an ongoing project in the South of Thailand involves large light wells penetrating the plinth of a hotel complex. The openings form water ponds with planted islets allowing for waiting and meeting areas connected to the elements.

Designing and building this house has been nothing short of surprises. Seeing it as a journey rather than focusing only on the final outcome has been essential to staying grounded through the process. Now, as we approach the final stretch, the real challenge lies in balancing the naturally slow pace of craftsmanship with our expectations for quality.

Beyond aesthetics, this home is also a step toward low-carbon living. By prioritizing locally sourced timber, reducing reliance on high-emission materials, and embracing passive design inspired by traditional Thai architecture elevated structures, natural ventilation, and connected open spaces, we aim to minimize environmental impact while maximizing comfort in a tropical climate.
It’s not just a house, it’s a process of learning, adapting, and building with intention.
