He reportedly said: “Without me, Deng would have been sacked long ago.”

According to the account, Ayual claimed that he was providing Deng Wal with resources allegedly being used to bribe relatives of President Salva Kiir in order to secure Deng’s continued position.

When a friend who was drinking with him urged him to be careful and warned that he could face jail time for allegedly misusing company resources once he left office, Ayual reportedly said he had documented all the payments he had made to members of the First Family, particularly First Lady Mary Ayen Mayardit, whom he allegedly accused of making excessive demands for money.

He reportedly added that he had sent the documentation to his Kenyan lawyer, with instructions that it be released if anything happened to him.
