Throwback to one of the inspiring projects we are proud to have contributed to: the Gateway Vocational Training Center (GVTC) in Benton, Liberia.

GVTC stands as a powerful institution dedicated to equipping Liberians with essential career skills while supporting economic growth and community development.

Inaugurated in May 2024, the state of the art training center was funded by the German Government with support from GIZ and the European Union. Easy Solar was honored to be subcontracted for the installation and commissioning of the center’s advanced solar energy system, featuring:

• 70 kWp Solar Power
• 80 kWh Lithium Battery Storage

This project is a strong example of how sustainable energy and education can come together to create lasting impact and meaningful progress.

As we approach our anniversary this coming June, we look back with pride on projects that continue to empower communities across the region.

Last Week, Easy Solar was proud to join our partners Trócaire and KADDRO for a joint site visit to Kambia District with Ásdís Bjarnadóttir who is the Head of Mission for the Iceland Embassy in Sierra Leone.

Our Easy Solar-EaaS team was led by Hirra Turay our Deployment Lead as we provided a vital opportunity for our partners and funders to see exactly how the Lite Salone project is delivering on its promises in the communities of Tombo Wallah and Kalenkeh in Mambolo chiefdom.

Rural communities in Kambia have faced serious barriers to energy due to high costs and remote locations as well as a total lack of after sales support. During the visit the embassy team saw firsthand how our Energy-as-a Service (EaaS) model solves these issues. Unlike traditional one off distributions our approach focuses on permanent service where we provide a long term connection rather than just a kit. We ensure maintenance and support are managed through viable local operations to overcome the financial barriers that previously left these communities in the dark.

With more than 7,000 solar home kits already installed through the Lite Salone Project, we are firmly on track to support the Government of Sierra Leone’s Mission 300 goal of powering 400,000 households by 2030.

The response from the people of Kambia has been strongly positive. Local operators and funders and governments are seeing clearly that our EaaS approach to scalable energy access for the last mile works.

We are grateful to the Iceland Embassy and Trócaire and KADDRO for their collaboration on this site visit. Together we are proving that when you combine the right technology with a service first mindset permanent energy access for the last mile becomes a reality.
