Commitment in Kenema! NCRA Director General Delivers Free National Identity Cards to Gbado
GBADO, KENEMA DISTRICT.

By K. Wise

A wave of celebration swept through the Kandu Leppiama Chiefdom this week as Mohamed Mubashir Massaquoi, Director General of the National Civil Registration Authority (NCRA), arrived to fulfill a significant public pledge. In an event defined by the local slogan “Tok En Do,” meaning “Talk and Do,” he personally oversaw the distribution of 100 free National Identity Cards to the residents of Gbado.

This initiative serves as a strong gesture of appreciation toward the community, ensuring that rural citizens are not left behind in the country’s drive for formal documentation. By providing these essential identity cards at no cost, the NCRA is removing barriers to financial services, legal identification, and travel opportunities for the people of Kenema District.

The jubilant atmosphere across the chiefdom reflected a growing sense of trust between the government and its citizens. For many residents of Gbado, the Director General’s visit was more than an official engagement—it was a clear demonstration of leadership that prioritizes action over promises.

This distribution marks an important step in the NCRA’s ongoing mission to ensure that every citizen, regardless of location, is included in the national registry and has access to the rights and services that come with proper identification.

Celebrating a Woman of Courage and Kindness, Happy Birthday Madam Honourable Rosaline Hawa Siaffa 🎉

By K. Wise

Today is a special day as we celebrate the birthday of a remarkable Sierra Leonean woman, Madam Honourable Rosaline Hawa Siaffa. She is widely admired for her courage, kindness, and dedication to humanity. Many people often liken her to the biblical figures Deborah and Queen Esther, women who stood with strength, wisdom, and kindness to serve their people.

Madam Honourable Rosaline Hawa Siaffa has shown true patriotism through her commitment to helping the less privileged, especially orphans and vulnerable children across Sierra Leone. Her vision to secure land at Bathurst Village for the construction of homes for orphans and marginalized children demonstrates her deep love for humanity and her determination to create a better future for those who need support the most.

Na woman wey get true heart for help people. Plenty pikin dem wey nor get support now get hope because of the good work wey she dey do. Dis kind service na example for many people across Salone.

Even when challenges arise, we believe that good intentions and genuine service will always prevail. God sees every act of kindness, and He will continue to guide and strengthen those who dedicate their lives to helping others.

As Sierra Leoneans both at home and in the diaspora, let us come together to celebrate this inspiring woman on her special day. May this new chapter of her life bring continued blessings, good health, wisdom, and greater opportunities to serve humanity.

Happy blessed and wonderful birthday, Madam Honourable Rosaline Hawa Siaffa. May God continue to protect you and bless the good work you are doing for the people of Sierra Leone.

Court Blocks Lands Ministry From Interfering With DIP Lands Linked to Hon. Roseline Hawa Siaffa

By K. Wise

A major court ruling has emerged in the ongoing land dispute involving the Ministry of Lands, Housing and Country Planning and the Development Initiative Programme (DIP) connected to Hon. Roseline Hawa Siaffa. The High Court has issued an interim injunction preventing the Ministry from taking any action against the land owned by the organization.

The order, delivered on March 11, 2026 by the High Court’s Land, Property and Environment Division, stops the Ministry, the Minister, and the Director of Surveys from entering, remaining on, or interfering with the large stretch of land belonging to DIP along Bathurst–Gloucester Road.

This ruling means that officials from the Ministry must stay away from the properties until the court fully examines and decides the case. The temporary injunction is intended to ensure that the land owned by DIP and its affiliated organizations remains untouched while the legal proceedings continue.

The case has already sparked widespread public attention, as many now wait to see how the court will finally resolve the dispute over the valuable land.
