I am delighted to announce that I have been appointed as Bridging Gaps Ambassador in Sierra Leone.

Bridging Gaps mitigates recipient indebtedness by providing interest-free microloans and allowing for business restarts in crises. Our focus on "shifting the power" empowers communities, establishing their financial structures and fostering self-sufficiency through the pay-it-forward model.

We foster close relationships with our loan recipients through entrepreneurship training, business incubation, coaching, and long-term mentorship. The strong support of the local partner
organizations further increases our success rate due to existing relationships and trust within the local communities.

Today is a remarkable day set aside by the United Nations that celebrates and recognizes the significant contributions of domestic workers to the global economy.

The Sierra Leone Domestic Workers Organisation (SLeWoDU) is joining the globe to celebrate one of the most unrecognized but important labour groups in Sierra Leone. Amidst the enormous challenges faced by domestic workers and the impact of COVID-19, we have mobilized and organised as a Union and on the process of affiliating with the Sierra Leone Labour Congress (SLCC).

On this day, we are calling on the government and all stakeholders in Sierra Leone to ensure the following
1. Domestication of C189 (Decent work for domestic workers)
2. Provision of Social Security Scheme
3. Protection from all forms of abuses, exploitations, harassment and violation of national and migrant domestic workers.
