PRIDE-SL with funds from ActionAid engaged 40 women and young farmers in the use of climate smart agricultural skills to maximize yields for their labor.
In this engagement, facilitator after facilitator emphasized human activities as the primary cause of climate change effects.
Participants' contributions showed high level of traditional practices which are currently been used and which effects have accounted for poor yields from their farming activities. The cutting down of forest trees also accounts for the migration of wildlife animals stated by Iye Rogers; a mothers' club member who requested community or traditional leaders levy fines against defaulters. She pointed at previous interventions by COME-SL in the construction of fish pond which she said had been a source of protein provision.
The engagement was interspersed with participants quest for the implementation of community by-laws against defaulters which will serve as mitigating factor to reduce deforestation and emission of greenhouse gases.

PRIDE-SL with funds from ActionAid conducted an education accountability engagement with Stakeholders, pupils, students and community leaders to map ways in mitigating fraud in the education sector within the Bo LRP. Several statements and presentations were made by representatives from institutions responsible with stake in the upholding of integrity in the education sector. Pupils and students present identified factors which have been promoting corruption before, during and after examinations either public or class room.
Recommendations were highlighted serving as a stepping stone towards achieving the education goals set by the government of Sierra Leone.

Out in Sogbeni Chiefdom in celebration of the World Environment Day. I represented PRIDE-SL in company of Red Cross Society, Fourth estate, pupils from five schools in Bo courtesy of Environmental Protection Agency. We visited El dorado Resources Company mining sites. This visit served as an eye opener for the pupils and a platform for professional engagement. Our World can be safe if we choose to make it safe for ourselves and generations to come and take after ours.

Working for and with communities in Bo LRP to promote feminism and enhancing safe guarding practices for the security and growth of all children. We leave no child behind and rely on the strength of all stakeholders to promote inclusivity while growing transformative leaders.

On the 9th April 2026, PRIDE-SL team in company of the leadership of Action Aid-SL visited the Bo LRP to engage with community members on the status of the school in Lowuma and also collect messages from children on sponsorship program. Several relevant issues were highlighted by community members, amongst which are the unapproved status of the school which was built in 2006 with support from Action Aid-SL. The unapproved status of the school serves as a barrier to achieving children's academic growth. The issue of uncoded teachers undermines the retention of teachers within the community.
The message collection was all inclusive and participatory.
The leadership of Action Aid-SL and PRIDE-SL moved onto Bumbeh village in Kakua chiefdom for further assessment of the school. Similar issues from Lowuma were highlighted too.

With 5-Minute Crafts – I just got recognised as one of their top fans!

An engagement on the Open Information Platform (OIP) was convened by PRIDE-SL with financial and technical support from Action Aid Sierra Leone. The meeting brought together 50 community stakeholders to promote transparency, accountability, and inclusive participation in governance and service delivery.

The session aimed to strengthen collaboration between communities and key institutions while enhancing awareness and use of the OIP as a tool for information sharing and feedback.
Objectives of the Engagement were
1. To introduce and promote the Open Information Platform (OIP)
2. To enhance community awareness on access to information
3. To strengthen collaboration between stakeholders and institutions
4. To provide a platform for dialogue on key community issue.

The engagement was attended by 50 participants, including:

Community representatives (including LRP communities)

Civil society organizations

Local authorities

Representatives from government ministries and agencies

The engagement commenced with a welcome address from the Deputy Chief Administrator of Bo City Council, who emphasized the importance of inclusive governance and community participation.

The Director of PRIDE-SL highlighted the purpose of the OIP and its role in promoting transparency, accountability, and citizen engagement. The Manager of Action Aid Sierra Leone reaffirmed the organization’s commitment to supporting community-driven development initiatives.

Boycotting your constitutional roles due to party request and partisan ideology is a disservice to your conscience, nation and your voters.
This path followed by the main opposition in Sierra Leone is leading to a one party governance system; which is bad practice.

Peoples Rights Integrity and Dignity Empowerment-Sierra Leone (PRIDE-SL) with funds from Action Aid-Sierra Leone, conducted an OIP engagement where key stakeholders from diverse MDAs and community members from project communities converged at the Bo District Council hall at Falaba section along the Bo-Freetown highway. The engagement formed a platform for stakeholders to be knowledgeable about the funds provided to PRIDE-SL to enhance a just society through empowering young girls and boys thus empowering deprived communities to be agents of change and engage with or demand accountability and transparency from Duty Bearers.
The 17th March 2026 marks a turning point in the life of PRIDE-SL with courtesy of the trust and confidence put in the works we do.
