Happy Birthday to His Majesty King Charles III.

A wonderful Trooping the Colour today and a fitting celebration of His Majesty's service to our country 🇬🇧

Fantastic to welcome the Rt Hon Richard Holden MP back to Westcliff, for a wonderful evening at The Beach Hut. Delicious food and drinks courtesy of Donna and her excellent team coupled with a fantastic speech by Richard. Lots of good questions and obviously we discussed the news about both the Defence Secretary, John Healey MP and the Defence Minister, Al Carns MP resigning.

This is obviously the end of Sir Keir Starmer’s disastrous government and one of the most significant Ministerial resignations in decades.

When the Defence Secretary is forced declare publicly that the Government isn’t doing enough to keep us all safe is very serious and has international as well as domestic implications.

The world is watching and it is vital Sir Keir Starmer acts swiftly both in resigning but, more importantly, naming a temporary Defence team to enable someone to take over who (hopefully) commands as much respect in Parliament as John Healey. fans

The Public Sector Equality Duty has allowed identity politics, DEI bureaucracy and ideological box-ticking to take over our public services.

Enough is enough. It's time to scrap it.

Great morning hitting doorsteps with Rochford District Conservatives supporting the amazing Danielle Belton. Residents disgusted to hear the newly elected Reform UK councillor stood down after only 4 days costing tax-payer £35,000 in unnecessary costs.

🗳️Vote Reform UK or Green & you get Labour!❗️It is unbelievable that Labour came a poor 4th in the local elections, behind the Greens, the Conservatives and Reform UK, yet we continue to have a Labour council. A vote for any other Party other then the Conservatives locally simply delivers higher taxes, more building on the Greenbelt, less support for businesses and higher regulation. Disaster👇🏻👇🏻

About last night’s Council meeting… 👀

Vote Reform or Green it doesn’t matter, you still get Labour.

Labour lost the Southend City Council elections. So, last night we forced a vote against their leadership of the Council. But it’s only due to the Greens and Reform that they clung on.

Actions speak louder than words, and last night’s meeting showed that.

🥀It is with immense sadness that I report that my dear and wonderful mother, Peggy, or Peg to her friends, finally lost her battle with pancreatic cancer yesterday. She has battled so hard and been so brave over the last 10 months and I feel extremely privileged and grateful to have been able to care for her right up until the very end. She was the kindest, most generous person you could ever meet, and her boundless energy and indominable, positive spirit shone through right up until the end.
A total force of nature, mum threw her heart and soul into everything and everyone she touched. An inspirational school teacher, mum, Magistrate and PhD, my mother realised the power of an excellent education, especially for girls, long before “tiger mums” were even a concept! She was also a talented artist, gardener, as well as being a huge animal lover. Always rescuing cats, birds, rabbits, reptiles and fish, our house was often more like a mini animal rescue centre than a home! And, of course, she was the most wonderful Grandma & role model to my three, and my brother’s, four children.

☀️Quite simply, mum always brought the sunshine into our lives and I count myself lucky that it shone on all of us for so many years.

Finally, as a daughter of a Royal Navy veteran and a great patriot, I know it would have given her huge pleasure to have finally bowed out on VE day! 🇬🇧

✝️Rest in peace Mum and rise in glory. Always loved, never forgotten.

🙏🏻A big thank you to all the Doctors and Nurses at the PRU Hospital, Orpington and Sonia McPherson and her brilliant team of District Nurses who cared for her so well in her final weeks at home. Thank you also for all the wonderful messages of love & support which are so appreciated.
