ورد السودان
تزهر الأرواح على خطوط ملونة كأنها وشم على ذاكرة الوطن
خطوط بسيطة لكنها تضيء العتمة وتوقظ الحنين
ستة وجوه ست شموع من بين آلاف الأرواح
التي أنارت لنا الطريق الطويل
إنها حكاية وطن نوجزها ببضعة حالمين
قدموا قلوبهم قربانًا للحرية
وأرواحهم زهرا لطريق أرادوه أخضر بالسلام عامرا بالعدالة
لم يكونوا أبطالا في أسطورة
بل ورودا حقيقية نبتت من تراب هذا السودان الحبيب
على مدى أيام طويلة رسمتهم كما عرفتهم
بسطاء نقيّون يشبهوننا
كما يشبه الحلم ملامح من لم يستيقظ بعد
لم نرثهم بالبكاء بل نحيي فينا بهم ما كاد يموت
نستضيء بدمهم طريقنا حين يطول الظلام
ونسمي الوجع بأسمائهم
علّ الضوء يعرف طريقه إلينا من جديد
إلى عزام وعبد السلام وستنا ومحمد وعثمان ودودو
وإلى آلاف الورود التي لا تزال تعطر الهواء بالشجن والرجاء
يهدي مهرجان السودان الدولي لأفلام التحريك في دورته الرابعة
هذه اللوحة لذاك الجيل الذي حلم ولا يزال يحلم

Roses of Sudan
Souls bloom along colored lines like tattoos etched on the memory of a homeland
Simple lines yet they light the darkness and awaken longing
Six faces six candles among thousands of spirits
that lit for us the long road ahead
This is the story of a nation told through a few dreamers
who offered their hearts as a sacrifice for freedom
and their souls as flowers for a path they wished to see green with peace and full of justice
They were not heroes in a myth
but real roses grown from the soil of this beloved Sudan
Over long days I drew them as I knew them
humble pure and just like us
as dreams resemble the faces of those who are yet to wake
We did not inherit them through tears
we revive within us what nearly died through their memory
We light our path with their blood when the darkness lingers
and we name our pain after them
hoping light finds its way back to us again

and to the thousands of roses still scenting the air with sorrow and hope
The Sudan International Animation Film Festival in its fourth edition
dedicates this artwork to that generation who dreamed and still dreams
