🌍 Shaping Seychelles' Climate Future 🌱🇸🇨
Today, key stakeholders gathered to validate Seychelles' third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0), a landmark document that will guide the country's climate ambition, commitments, and targets through to 2030 under the Paris Agreement.
Over the past year, with the support of UNDP Seychelles the development of NDC 3.0 has involved extensive consultations and technical reviews with government agencies, development partners, civil society organisations, the private sector, and other stakeholders. Today's validation workshop marks an important milestone in finalising the document before its submission.
For Seychelles, NDC 3.0 is more than a climate commitment. It is a roadmap for building resilience to climate change, protecting our environment and biodiversity, strengthening sustainable development, enhancing energy security, and safeguarding the livelihoods of present and future generations.
As a Small Island Developing State, Seychelles remains on the frontline of climate change. Through NDC 3.0, we are reaffirming our commitment to ambitious climate action while ensuring that no one is left behind in the transition towards a more sustainable and resilient future.
Together, we are turning ambition into action for the benefit of our people, our economy, and our environment.

🌍🤝 Advancing an inclusive vision for climate action in Seychelles
Following the validation workshop for Seychelles' Third Nationally Determined Contribution (NDC 3.0) on 10 June, stakeholders from government, civil society, development partners, academia and the private sector gathered on Thursday 11 June to ensure that gender equality and social inclusion remain at the heart of the country's climate ambitions.
The Gender and Social Inclusion in NDC 3.0 Workshop provided an opportunity to review how gender-responsive and socially inclusive measures are integrated across key sectors, including energy, transport and adaptation. Participants also examined opportunities to strengthen the responsiveness of climate actions to the needs of women, youth, persons with disabilities and other vulnerable groups.
Through presentations, breakout discussions and plenary exchanges, stakeholders identified gaps, shared recommendations and validated inputs aimed at ensuring that the implementation of NDC 3.0 promotes equitable access to climate solutions, strengthens resilience and supports sustainable development for all.
Climate change affects communities differently. Building a resilient future requires climate action that is not only ambitious, but also inclusive and responsive to the realities faced by all segments of society. As Seychelles moves closer to finalizing its NDC 3.0, these consultations help ensure that no one is left behind in the country's transition towards a more sustainable and climate-resilient future.
