Book Donation - Ocean AI

Ocean AI has donated four books to the Seychelles National Library as part of its efforts to support the development of digital skills in the country. The donation consists of two copies of ‘Python Crash Course’ by Eric Matthes and two copies of ‘Hands-On Machine Learning with Scikit-Learn and PyTorch’ by Aurélien Géron. The books, valued at approxi-mately SCR 5,000, were financed by H. Savy Insurance (HSI) and sourced through a local bookseller. The books cover specialised subjects in which learning materials can be costly and quickly become outdated as technologies develop. Ocean AI said it therefore chose recent resources that could be used by beginners as well as people seek-ing to undertake more advanced projects.Ocean AI chairperson Laurent Valentin said the idea developed af-ter he encountered difficulties find-ing a Python reference book at the library.
