Our greatest weakness lies in giving up.
The most certain way to succeed is always to try just one more time
So, if you feel low, don't hesitate and be ready to raise your wings of fire...

It is been almost an year since I achieved the Distinguished Toastmasters status and yet got hold of this plaque today morning. Indeed getting hold of this culminated the feeling of completing the arc...
It has been a struggle... In our hometown kerala they say "കരയുന്ന പൂച്ചക്കെ പാലോള്ളൂ" which means only the crying cat gets milk. I would like to rephrase it stating that sometimes you will get what you need only if you ask. But even if you ask, you should expect denials.
Year before last when toastmasters decided to move to pathways, I had already completed my ACS and the major obstacle in front of me to achieve DTM was to be a district official. I approached my division but was denied since they had already decided. So I kept quiet. I even approached other divisions and same was the case.
When it seemed to be darkness all around, toastmasters threw light by giving us an option of being the club coach. Again denial by my division continued and I continued my silence. But I was keenly looking for finding my alchemist. As they say the universe indeed conspires and it did when I found my alchemist through DTM Sadagopan who gave me a chance to become the club coach.
There was no turning back then. Achieved my ACG, ALS and DTM resulting in back to back triple crown awards as well.
The denials didnt stop there. It came in the form of COVID 19 which delayed the shipment of this plaque and then it was send by toastmasters to my home address with wrong contact credentials. It got stuck in some warehouse in banglore.
When enquired to TMI, they informed it was reshipped but not delivered. When scrutinized, the given airway bill number remained the same for both shipments but was denied by the sender.
This time I was not ready to keep quiet. There was series of back an forth emails with TMI and after communicating with 4 different people, I was finally able to convince them to send it to my Saudi Address with no extra cost.
The bottomline is, when you gain something by fighting for it, the happiness is doubled and that is exactly what I feel now.
I would like to thank my home club, Periyar Toastmasters club for giving me the platform and Manoj C Nair, DTM for motivating me to join this fraternity.
And to all the aspiring leaders out there, my humble advice is to react by asking questions when denials occur. Because if you keep quiet, then you are either silently accepting whatever is put to your plate or denying your rights that you were supposed to get if you just dared to raise your wings of fire.
Best Regards

Got this from a Friend's Wall.🙏
I got on to the bus. Seeing the crowd inside, I was upset. There was no place to sit. Just then, a person vacated his seat. The man standing next to the vacant seat could have sat there, but instead he offered the seat to me.
At the next stop, the same thing happened again. He gave his seat to another. This happened 4 times during the entire journey. The man looked like a normal worker, returning home after a long day at work...
At the last stop when all of us got off, I spoke to him.
"Why were you giving your seat to another person every time you got a vacant seat?"
His answer took me by surprise.
"I haven’t studied much in my life nor do I know many things. I don't have much money either. So I don't have anything much to give to anyone. That's why I do this everyday. It is something I can do easily.
"After working all day I can stand for a little longer. I gave my seat to you and you said *thank you*. It gave me satisfaction that I did something for someone.
I do this daily & feel I am contributing in some way.
I go back home refreshed & happy every day that I gave something to someone."
I was speechless!
Wanting to do something for someone on a daily basis is the ultimate gift.
This stranger taught me a lot -
How easy it is to be rich from within!
Beautiful clothes, lots of money in the bank account, expensive gadgets, accessories & luxuries or even educational degrees - may or may not make you rich and happy; but a small act of giving is enough to make you feel rich & Happy everyday.
