It rarely begins with a breakdown just a quiet shift: high performers doing less, decisions taking longer, energy thinning out across teams. Across industries, over 40% of employees now report sustained workplace stress, and the World Health Organization is clear : burnout is the result of chronic stress that systems fail to manage, not people failing to cope. Yet many institutions still respond with surface solutions, as if a wellness session can fix what poor work design creates. The truth is simpler, and slightly uncomfortable: you cannot demand sustainable performance from unsustainable systems. At some point, every institution has to decide keep adjusting people to fit the pressure, or finally redesign the pressure itself.

According to BMC Public Health, many global health roles demand years of prior experience leaving recent graduates locked out of the careers they trained for.
This isn’t a talent problem. It’s an opportunity gap.
For non-clinical health professionals still studying or newly graduated: Don’t wait for employment to build experience. Volunteer. Intern. Take short courses. Build digital, research, data, and project management skills. Document your work. Create proof of value.

On this Mother’s Day, we pause not just to celebrate — but to reflect.
Across homes, clinics, farms, markets, and boardrooms, mothers carry more than their children. They carry communities. They carry the future.
