Wednesday and Thursday, in Rwanda, the
International Labour Organization hosted a Global Conference of Decent Jobs for Youth, attended by international participants from governments, social partners, youth, academia, civil society and many other stakeholders.
At the opening, Hon emphasized the need for dialogue among all actors, on innovative youth employment investments in green and digital economies. This message was echoed by Ozonnia Ojielo , UN Resident Coordinator and
the DG of International Labour Organization
, via video conference.

"In a world undergoing rapid technological evolution, where industries and labour markets are being reshaped, it becomes imperative to empower our youth with required skills to tap into opportunities for their employment."

HON BAYISENGE CONDUCTED FIELD VISIT IN RULINDO-MUSANZE AND RUBAVU TO ASSESS EMPLOYMENT AND DECENT WORK

On the first day of the field visit on January 18, 2024, the Minister Jeannette Bayisenge explored Trinity Metals, the site of Nyakabingo Mines situated in Rulindo District. She engaged with the managerial and technical teams, including administrative staff, at the mining site. Operational methods at this facility showcase a remarkable transition from traditional to semi-mechanized mining, employing a diverse range of modern machinery to enhance efficiency and precision in mining activities.
