"TELL ME ABOUT YOURSELF"
That's the most common question in an interview.
Long ago, we got a proposal for a Senior Developer Position.
The candidate explained things very well.
Finished Projects
Work Experience
Education
But, the skills section stopped me from reading.
The skills are rated 3 out of 10.
When we asked for explanation,
He said that he wanted to get that job.
but didn't want to disappoint anyone's expectations.
He was a great developer and yet humble.
Another story,
The recruiter ask candidates to introduce themself in a short video.
but one of them sent his greatness story in a text format.
So, if you are the recruiter, which person will you hire? 😂

Some convert tea to code as well.
Remote Working has CHANGED THE WAY WE WORK
At first, It's FUN.
We can work anywhere and anytime,
We can work in a cafe,
We can work in the beach,
We can work even in our house with pajamas.
After working remotely for a while,
There are times when we feel lonely.
We miss the social interaction.
Missing our colleagues.
Missing the office jokes.
Missing the office gossip.
Loneliness is a common problem for remote workers.
In our team, we try to solve this issue,
By having a weekly call with all colleagues.
We talk about FUN topics,
we talk about anything we want.
Last time, we asked our colleagues:
"What will they do if they have a million dollars?"
It's fun and exciting.
It's not only helping us to overcome our loneliness.
It's also helping us to strengthen our bond.
What's your experience with remote working?

Have you ever found yourself working on many tasks...
But still feeling like there's no progress?
It's okay to feel that way!
Being productive doesn't mean rushing to finish everything.
Sometimes, the result takes more time to come.
If your best doesn't meet the goals,
It's not the end of the world..
We are DYNAMIC.
We can adapt to any situations.
REMEMBER to take one step at a time.
Keep moving toward your goals.
You don't have TO BE the best
You just have TO DO your best!
Until your best brings you to be the best.

Software Developer's job is not ONLY about writing code.
We spent ONLY 10-30% of the time writing code.
So what about the rest of our time.
Can you make a guess?
Here are the rough ideas
1. Testing to find errors and bugs.
2. Debugging to correct the bugs.
3. Googling to learn things.
We keep learning, adapting, and evolving with technology,
To make sure we deliver a great product to our clients.

Make a New Year resolution out of staying safe in the tech world. Too many people have lost billions due to negligence. You'll never understand what this means, until it's your own money.
Entire businesses are kicked out because of some bugs. But not OpenSea. These guys have a $3 million bounty for any hacker willing to give a shot at their code.
Like this guy making $100,000 over a bug report!

MilkRoad has been also hitting on the topic "Decentralised Social".
There's a new blockchain in town called DeSo (a.k.a. "Decentralised Social"). It's fast and cheap. You can use it to store identity and connections. You can even store content and likes.
As they explain on their website:
“Anyone who runs a node to curate their own feed also contributes data back to the public pool of profiles, posts, follows, etc... that's stored on the public blockchain. A post or a like on ESPN's node can be surfaced on Politico's feed. A post made in China can be surfaced on a feed running on a node in America and vice versa.”
We're happy to see someone has made a priority out of this.
Social media monopolies and censorship might come to an end soon.
🥛A peek into decentralized social media 👀 Watch out Twitter, TikTok, and Facebook - there’s a new player in town
Taming the beast. Coca-Cola, the Supply Chain and the Blockchain.
You might think of Coca-Cola as a business with a simple supply chain. How hard can it be to put some sweet water into bottles?
The reality is that Coca-Cola is not a lone wolf. They have partners that do the bottling. Partners that close the cans. Partners that extract the sugar. Partners that transport the sugar. Partners that bring the water.
These partners have their own partners. And the list goes on.
It becomes hard to work together. People have trouble keeping supply in sync. You order 1000 cans now. But by the time you place the order, someone else ordered cans and you're out of stock.
The worst part is when people start lying. Bribery. Sub-standard quality. Exploitation. It's not hard to alter the truth in a database.
Blockchain offers a system that no party can manipulate.
Ernst & Young, Microsoft and a few other companies found an opportunity here. They developed an Ethereum-based system called the Baseline Protocol. This can keep track of what was purchased, price, when it was shipped. In the end it's a communication channel. And anyone can use it.
SAP, Salesforce and Oracle have already integrated Baseline protocol in their ERPs.
As for Coca-cola, they have already rolled out this new system to some of their partners. But it's an ongoing research for them as well.
We don't have a lot of public information so far, but we can assume this is starting to have a great impact. Being able to trust your supply chain has many benefits. It reduces your costs. It speeds up your delivery cycle. It helps you stick to local regulations and to your own ethics.
Let us know your thoughts in the comments. If you enjoyed the topic we will get into more detail with this in another post. 😉

Did you know that you can do a Google search without understanding how the internet is built? Or without knowing how HTTPS works? You can even do it without SEO knowledge!
Mind-blowing, isn’t it?
It shouldn’t matter if you're a 4yo kid or a PhD graduate. A good product is one that can be used by anyone.
Same applies to blockchain and NFTs.
If blockchain is to grow, it needs to be simple to use. Your average Joe should be able to use it without having to understand too much about it.
A few weeks ago, Starbucks launched the Beta of Odyssey, their new blockchain-based reward system. Time has passed and it seems that the flow is simple and reviews are positive. Looking forward to seeing how this story unfolds in the future.
I just earned (and sold) a Starbucks NFT: How it works, how much I made, and what I learned After 11 days playing trivia challenges and mini-games, entering a contest to win coffee for life, pledging to spread holiday cheer, taking a virtual tour of a Costa Rican coffee farm, and regularly visiting my local coffee drive-through in real life, I finally earned a Starbucks digital stamp Monda...
A while ago we asked our team about their future plans. Many confessed they'd love to start their own business one day.
I think it's impressive. I also trust that's gonna happen. They are smart, tenacious and little can stand in their way.
The young generations have a lot of ambition. And they have what it takes to reach their goal.
What could stop them?
