Relaxing Friday activities.

Since we work with recycled ♻️ clothing, it is quite hard to get larger pieces of the same material or color. But recently we got some bed linens and this is what we made out of them.

Earth Hour Day is a worldwide campaign organized by WWF (World Wide Fund). It is held annually to encourage individuals, societies, communities, shopping malls, corporates etc., to turn off electric lights that are not essential for one hour.

Today we encourage you to switch off your lights from 8:30 pm to 9:30 CEET so that you help restore our Earth 🌎.

Loomescu's magic power of upcycling is turning worn out t shirts into beautiful new rugs. 🪄♻️

For this rug we used around 30 t shirts which has a positive carbon footprint of 10 kg CO2 equivalent.

Robert Swan (1956) is a British historian, explorer and activist, best known for being the first person to walk to both Poles. He is also known for his advocacy of renewable energy and his fight in for the environment including this famous quote.

He is terribly right, if we believe that each of our small actions is not counted and we wait for somebody else to come with a big action to save us, we are wrong.

Sustainability is the balance between the environment, equity, and economy. What does this mean? It means that we need to find the equilibrium between them by understanding the connections. By doing this we will ensure that our level of living is not destroying the chance of our kids and grandkids to a similar life on earth. We need to pay attention to the excessive consumption and thinking of the future generations.

Sustainability was defined by the World Commission on Environment and Development as development that meets the needs of the present generation without compromising the ability of future generations to meet their needs.

This is what we are doing at LOOMescu. We have the environment part of our heart and mind looking to make it work in an ethical and equitable way so that it is economically viable.
