Can AI do it for us? With every day that passes, the answer is becoming a more confident YES. But what happens to everything we would have learned by trying ourselves?
We’ve been in Kemer for three days now for “The Art of Imperfection” Youth Exchange, and this question has given us plenty to talk about. AI, ethics and our place as humans have been at the heart of debates where we’ve shared different perspectives, questioned our own opinions and sometimes changed our minds.
Together, we’re exploring how AI can help us learn and create, while keeping space for the messy parts: starting from scratch, getting stuck, making mistakes and trying again. Those moments can be frustrating, but that frustration can also help us grow as humans.
We’re almost halfway through the project, and growing together took on an extra meaning yesterday: Doğa chose to celebrate her birthday here with us. People are literally growing in our project! Happy Birthday, Doğa! 🎂

Another volunteering stage has come to an end, and we are happy to look back at the time this group spent with us and with the children in our community.
Welcoming international volunteers is something we really value. They bring different perspectives, cultures and ideas into our activities, while also giving their time and attention to the children. During these weeks, they joined our daily activities, played, talked and spent time with the kids, getting to know them little by little.
We really enjoyed having this group with us. We appreciated their involvement, their openness and the way they adapted to the community and to the everyday reality of working with children.
Thank you for the time and effort you put into being here and for everything you shared with us and the kids. We hope you leave with a good understanding of our community and with plenty of moments from your time here to look back on.
We are glad we can continue welcoming international volunteers and creating opportunities for them to be part of our local work! ❤️

It's been a week since we came back from Cyprus, where we took part in Mountain Games Cyprus 2026. Looking back, we realise just how much was happening, and we’re so glad we had the chance to be part of it... Eight mountain villages, more than 30 activities and over 2,000 people in just four very intense days.
Whole mountain communities came together on hiking trails, on bicycles, at football matches, in schools and around tables for discussion. Teachers and researchers, youth workers and members of sports organisations shared their experiences. Chefs cooked for us with traditional ingredients, and local producers welcomed us to discover their w**es, olive oil and the work behind them. And so much more happened in between.
In Omodos, a few tavernas even closed during the folk performance so that everyone could be there, really be there. That small detail says a lot about what these days meant.
The Euroactive delegation participated in some of those activities every single day, and our only regret is that we couldn’t be everywhere. We would have loved to see and join it all.
Congratulations, MountMed Institute, for the enormous effort behind this event and for everything you brought together. We left with ideas, warm memories and a strong wish to make something like this happen in our own country.
We hope 2027 brings us together again.

This week, we had the chance to do several workshops with the high school students. We talked about bullying through an acting activity, creating a space to raise awareness and reflect on how our actions can affect others.
We also explored artificial intelligence in two different sessions. We played a “Real or AI?” challenge, learned more about how LLMs work, created a simple AI using programming, and discussed some of the moral questions surrounding AI.
Another workshop focused on creativity and video editing, where the students had to make a commercial for a flip-flop. Using their phones and editing tools, they turned a simple and ridiculous idea into their own advertisements.
At 4 schools, we worked with the children on an activity called “The Feelings Camera”. They had different frames where they could draw moments connected to different emotions, such as their happiest, saddest or angriest moments.
It was a busy week with many different activities, but it was great to see everyone learning, creating and sharing ideas together. We are looking forward to continuing these activities and seeing what the next weeks bring.

Mountain Games Cyprus 2026 has officially started! For four days, villages across the Troodos Mountains will be a little less quiet. Schools, trails and village squares are bringing people together through movement, music, food and conversations about healthier lives and the future of mountain communities.
Yesterday was full of interesting discussions at the International Symposium. Today we went to Agros, where around 300 children from three schools in Agros, Limassol and Nicosia came together for a day of activities that got everyone moving. It was wonderful! Children from the school’s music club sang "Ode to Joy" for us, and, well, we definetely felt the joy!
At 5:30 this afternoon, Euroactive will join the panel on youth, healthy lifestyles and participation in mountain areas. We’ll share what we’ve learned from creating opportunities for young people in rural communities, and why those opportunities matter close to home.
Two more days of great events ahead!

We are in Cyprus for Mountain Games!
And we are definitely not a small group. Mountain Games brings together 11 partner organisations from 10 European countries, all here to explore how the Troodos Mountains can become a space for movement, healthy living, local culture and stronger mountain communities.
Today was our planning day, but we also got out of the meeting room and visited a local w**ery. It was a great chance to see what local entrepreneurship looks like in a small mountain village. On short, ambitious people building businesses around what their communities have been doing for generations, keeping old traditions alive while finding ways to make them work today.
And this is actually an important part of Mountain Games. The project is mainly about sport, but not only. It connects physical activity with the identity of the Troodos Mountains, local food and products, traditions, tourism and the people who keep these villages alive.
For the next five days, our European delegation will be moving around the Troodos mountain villages, meeting local communities, exploring the area and preparing what comes next.
A lot of mountains ahead. And, apparently, some very good w**e too.

This week, we spent fun days with the children during our Colourful Fish Catch activity.
On Tuesday and Wednesday, we brought the activity to Albești Library, Valea Iașului School, and Mircea cel Bătrân School. The children enjoyed catching the colourful fish, playing together and having some friendly competition.
Each group was a little different, but everywhere we went, the kids were curious, involved and happy to take part. We had lots of laughs along the way and it was great to see everyone enjoying the activity.
We are happy we could spend these days together and bring a simple, fun activity to the local community.
In the last two days we also worked on the following activities that we will carry out at the high school in the coming period. We are excited to discuss topics on different themes with the teenagers and to use our imagination in working with the children.

Another week has come to an end, and we have been busy getting things ready for the activities ahead.
This week, we spent some time at the school in Dobrotu, where we cleaned and prepared the space. It was practical work, but an important part of getting the school ready for the children and for the activities we will be doing there.
We also visited the exhibition at the museum, which gave us the chance to take a step back from our usual routine and spend some time exploring something new together.
In Albești, we have also started our activities again after a short break. It was good to return and get back into the rhythm of things. There is still plenty to organize and prepare, but it feels good to have the activities running again.
We are really looking forward to starting the activities with the schools again and seeing the children. We have missed the conversations, the questions, the energy in the classrooms, and simply spending time together.
For now, we are taking things one step at a time and getting ready for the weeks ahead. There is a lot of work to do, but we are happy to be back.

Yes, we know. We disappeared somewhere between Brussels, Paris and the way back home. 😄
The truth is that our DiscoverEU journey ended more than a week ago, the luggages are finally unpacked and everyone is already back home. But we still owe you the last part of the story.
After Amsterdam, Brussels brought us a different side of Europe.
We heard different languages around almost every corner, explored Mont des Arts, Cinquantenaire, Grand Place and the European Quarter, and spent time at Parlamentarium trying to understand a little better how the European Union actually works. Not only what the institutions are called, but what they do, how decisions made there reach our everyday lives and where young people fit into all of this.
And then came the last train of the route: Paris. 🇫🇷
There was the Louvre, where everyone found something different worth stopping for. There was the Eiffel Tower, the Arc de Triomphe, Champs-Élysées and plenty of walking through a city we had seen hundreds of times in photos, but never quite like this.
By then, we had also started looking back.
Budapest. Vienna. Prague. Berlin. Amsterdam. Brussels. Paris.
18 days, different languages, different histories, different ways of moving through a city and a very large number of train stations.
What can we say for sure? We learned so much, explored places we had only dreamed of visiting and experienced things we never expected to be part of our journey. The whole experience was far beyond our expectations.
So yes, this update is late. But perhaps it also needed a few days.
Because only after everyone got home did it become clear just how much this whole DiscoverEU journey meant to us. 🚆🇪🇺
And this time, there is no “next train”.
Just a lot of stories left to tell.
