Orientarea psihoterapeurica in care se lucreaza este cea cognitiv comportamentala, care porneste de la teoria conforma careia nu evenimentele declansatoare cauzeaza stresul, ci modul in care noi ne raportam la acestea. In practica, aceasta teorie se traduce prin identificarea si restructurarea modului in care o persoana se raporteaza la un anumit subiect, ajungadu-se astfel la o intelegere clara a problemei, la redefinirea acesteaia si la o repozitionarea confortabila fata de subiect.
