🚨 House Democratic Leader Hakeem Jeffries is urging the immediate shutdown of ICE’s Delaney Hall detention facility in Newark, New Jersey.

Following a congressional oversight visit with members of the New Jersey delegation, Jeffries pointed to what he described as serious issues at the facility, including claims that detainees were served moldy or frozen food, experienced delays in receiving medical care, and faced retaliation while in custody.

Jeffries also argued that many of those detained are law-abiding residents, small business owners, and students rather than dangerous criminals. He accused the Trump administration’s deportation policies of undermining due process and demonstrating what he called a “depraved indifference to human life.”

Do you agree with Jeffries that Delaney Hall should be shut down, or do you believe ICE detention facilities are necessary for enforcing immigration laws?

Georgia Senator Jon Ossoff delivered this line during a heated speech at a Democratic campaign rally in Atlanta.

Ossoff was directly targeting President Donald Trump, contrasting the rising cost of everyday living—such as groceries and gas—with Trump’s government spending priorities.

Ossoff used the provocative nickname to draw attention to Trump’s past social associations with disgraced financier Jeffrey Epstein. It aligns with a messaging strategy Ossoff has used to criticize the administration, previously referring to Trump’s inner circle and wealthy donors as the “Epstein class” of ultra-rich elites.

🔥 On Saturday, May 30, 2026, delegates at the Minnesota Republican Party state convention in Duluth observed a brief moment of silence for Derek Chauvin, the former Minneapolis police officer convicted of the murder of George Floyd.

At the start of the morning session, a delegate named Christopher Rocco introduced a spontaneous motion on the convention floor to suspend the rules and hold a moment of reflection for Chauvin.

Rocco publicly argued that Chauvin was a victim of injustice and did not receive a fair trial due to the political pressure surrounding the 2020 civil unrest.

The convention chair, State Representative Danny Nadeau, put the motion to an informal voice vote. The crowd responded with an overwhelming “aye” in favor of the tribute, easily outnumbering the quieter “nays.”

Representative Nadeau then led those present in a moment of silence lasting approximately 10 seconds.

Representative Ro Khanna made this comment during an appearance on MSNBC's The Weekend.

When asked about California voters’ sentiments toward political incumbents in the aftermath of the devastating Los Angeles wildfires, Khanna said:

"Look, I think there was a lot of hurt and anger after the fires. My view is that the blame really needs to go on Donald Trump."

Khanna’s critique focused on the Trump administration’s handling of federal aid and disaster recovery, rather than the cause of the fires themselves.

🔥 Classic Democratic move. Everything is Trump’s fault 🤣

Sen. Bernie Sanders responded to President Trump after Trump told CNBC that he “couldn’t care less” whether the Iran peace negotiations collapsed. Sanders described the war as “illegal and unconstitutional,” a claim based on the assertion that Trump launched Operation Epic Fury on February 28 without congressional authorization. The conflict has resulted in 15 American service members killed and 538 others wounded, and is estimated to be costing U.S. households around $410 per month in higher energy costs. Trump initiated the war without a congressional vote and has described seeking such authorization as “unconstitutional.”

Don Lemon, commenting on Donald Trump's fixation on Barack Obama, rhetorically asked whether Trump's hostility stems from personal jealousy of Obama’s life:

"What is it about President Obama that really gets under your skin? Is it because he's smarter than you? Better educated? Made it on his own? Didn't need daddy's help? Wife is more accomplished? Better looking? I don't know, what is it?"
