DOES THE STORY MATTER?

How much of what we see is shaped by what we are told?
Do artworks still need guidance, explanation, biography, context?
Are stories expanding the work, or stabilizing it too quickly?
Can we still encounter an artwork before knowing what we are expected to feel?

On June 4, 7PM, at POINT, artist Iosif Király, gallerist Andrei Jecza, and collector Alexandru Rus come together for a conversation unfolding around the unstable relationship between artwork, narrative, interpretation, and imagination.

This talk is part of THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA, curated by Medina Pop (.pop) and commissioned by POINT.

Pe 4 iunie, la ora 19:00, la POINT, artistul Iosif Király, galeristul Andrei Jecza și colecționarul Alexandru Rus se întâlnesc într-o conversație despre relația instabilă dintre lucrare, narațiune, interpretare și imaginație.
Întâlnirea face parte din proiectul expozițional THIS IS NOT A GOOD IDEA, curatoriat de Medina Pop și comisionat de POINT.

A rare opportunity to experience Quentin Tarantino’s original vision: Kill Bill Vol. 1 and Vol. 2 combined into a single cinematic event, featuring additional footage rarely screened in theatres.

Sun after the rain, we have Matei Ardeleanu () playing on the terrace this Sunday.

A fan of anything alternative, left-field, and/or low-end driven, Matei dj’s focal point wanders mostly underground. Having done online radio for over 4 years as part of Bucharest-based trio aim+wall, in 2024 he started working for two of the city’s musical hotspots: Black Rhino Radio and Control Club

“This exhibition gathers works that hesitate, overshoot, collapse, interrupt themselves, or refuse to resolve. Some break under the weight of their own ambition. Some stop too early. Some continue too long. Some contain technical errors that were never corrected. Some expose emotional excess to the point of discomfort. Some remain unfinished because they could not become otherwise. Others carry contradictions that resisted every attempt at reconciliation. There are works shaped by obsession, exhaustion, misunderstanding, grief, refusal, interference, sabotage, distortion, disappearance. There are residues of attempts that could not stabilize into achievement.”

Join us for the opening of our upcoming show, This is Not a Good Idea, Saturday, May 16, starting 7 PM.

For 6 hours in line, Berlin based artist, Sorin Prodea, will do a durational performance, as part of his work ensemble, “Traces of Erasing History v1” (2026).

As for the celebration vibes, Bogman will get your Saturday grooves going on the terrace, with a nasty DJ set.

“In a culture obsessed with resolution, optimization, correction, exposure, and aesthetic hygiene, this curatorial project writes itself as a soft rebuttal against the pressure to remain productive through collapse, coherent through contradiction, visible through exhaustion, and intact at all costs. Against finality, ascent, and “curation” as a filter of truth and reality.

Where every gesture is expected to arrive polished, legible, and complete, already translated into the language of value, failure can no longer be tolerated. It is eliminated, corrected, or archived. “
