Doctor Pinball organize a tournament of flipper-pinball called “Entertainment Arena Expo Pinball Tournament 2012” which will be held in Bucharest at the event Entertainment Arena Expo 2012 placed at “Sala Polivalenta “ Calea Piscului nr.10 sector 4, information’s at www.pinball.ro , http://www.earena.ro , http://www.facebook.com/IfpaRomania , and take place on September 12- 14 ,contact, Marius Stoean [email protected] 0744863236 , Ovidiu Cacina 0723 302 205 [email protected]

3.Description ,acceptancy and registration fee.

There will be two distinctive tournaments :
Main tournament with modern pinballs (DMD)
Classic tournament with old alphanumeric and EM pinballs
To both tournaments can attend any romanian or foreign citizen who pays the registration fee which is 10 euro for one tournament or 15 euro for both ,registration is limited to 50 persons per tournament by organizer .
By paying this fee you will be entitled to participate in the tournament, to the qualifications for the first eight / sixteen , which will be held on 5 flippers –pinballs ,for that you will receive 5 pinballs game tokens , qualifying will be according to the schedule , if you want to improve your score purchase another 5 tokens for 2 euro ,you can repeat playing for high score during qulifying time , as much you want and depending on the occupancy of the 5 flippers - pinballs by the other competitors.
Entry deadline is September 10 , 2012 Organizer can accept registrations on site if the number of participants does not exceed 50. Registrations can be made by email to:

First stage: Qualifications.
The scores are:

These points apply to each machine and quantify at the end of qualifying.
Points for places up 16 will be fractions of unit, even if you not qualify in eight finals points scored will count in world top WPPR (World Pinball PlayerRankings).

During qualifying the player must try to get his best score on each pinball participating in the contest. Each player has to release the pinball as soon as he finished the game, but not before declaring to an official IFPA arbiter the score. When you want to declare a score, you turn back to the machine and signal to any IFPA official who will immediately come to note score. You can't make two consecutive games on the same machine during qualifying but you can make more parties to try to improve your score. The qualification will be according to schedule and any contestant can buy extra credits for 2 Euros/5 tokens . This stage can be extended depending on the number of participants.
Second stage: The final eight ladder or final sixteen ladder
The first eight / sixteen players qualify for the finals. These players will be entered into a direct elimination table which will be played 2 of 3 games on one flipper. The player whom is better qualified can choose the order of who will start the game for the first encounter and possibly the third, in the event of a tie. While the opponent will have the right to choose the order of play in the second game.

The order is:





5-8 positions will be determined by one game on one of the pinballs that have participated in the tournament.
Finals will be one game played on one of the pinball participating in the tournament. The order of pinballs will be draw at the beginning of the tournament, by an official in front of competitors from the pinballs that IFPA Romania have selected for this tournament.

5. Technical problems during the tournament.
- The pinball machines are quite complex with many moving parts, so the possibility of damage / block during the game is highly possible. -
If the ball is thrown out over flippers, or is lost in conditions where the game is not considered broken, the ball is considered lost. If the ball remains stuck on the surface immediately called the referee who will decide to release the ball or the repetition of the game depending on the case. If the ball is stuck on the playfield, the referee will remove the window, without interrupting the game and place the ball on the left flipper (it will be held operated by competitor) or on the launch lane (depending on game) and the game will be resumed when the window was put in place. If during this procedure because of inattention of the player the ball goes out, the ball is considered lost. If there are serious technical problems the game is interrupted and the technical staff will try to remedy the problem. If a repair is not possible the pinball will be removed from the tournament and all its scores will not count in overall standings.

6.Game settings and starting a game
All pinballs of the tournament will be set to tournament mode, or if the game doesn’t have this setting will be set with all setting to hard and no extra ball. Each game will have 3 balls per play. Every player who wants to start a game in the final eight should call the referee who will introduce credit for one game and will start the game. Only then the competitor may start the game. Referees nominated by IFPA Romania have the right to participate in the tournament but they are not entitled to input your own score. In this case another judge with one participant, a witness, will enter score.

7. Prizes and Award Ceremony
The ceremony will take place at 14.00 on 14.09.2012. There will be cups for the first 4 places of each tournament and participation certificates for places 1-8, special prize for the last ranked and plus other surprises. The five pinballs of competition will be reserved only for competition.


This regulation may be refined until the tournament is held.
